Working the late shift as a young adult seems great. After all, it gives you all day to have fun. But a new study has found that a steady diet of night shifts and irregular schedules can affect your health decades later. New York University research determined that “volatile work schedules” in your 20s can lead to sleep issues and poor physical and mental health by age 50. The same study found the traditional 9-5 to be the most protective health-wise over the course of someone’s life. Those working other schedules had poorer sleep quality and quantity – and were also more likely to report feelings of depression almost 30 years later.

It’s a good idea to snack before heading out on a grocery run. New research shows that food shopping on an empty stomach can lead to some serious overspending. A poll of 2,000 adults in the USA found that the average person spends an extra $26 per trip when they’re hungry. And with the average person making 2 grocery runs per week, well, YOU do the math!

LeVar Burton has officially sealed the deal to host “Trivial Pursuit”, following extensive negotiations. TMZ quotes network sources as saying Burton has officially locked in the deal to host and executive produce the revived version of the game show for The CW. It has been reported there is an initial 12-episode order for the series. Burton was famously snubbed by Sony execs for the “Jeopardy!” hosting job a few years ago.

Netflix has released a trailer for season 3 of “Bridgerton”, which teases the obstacles that ‘Penelope Featherington’ and ‘Colin Bridgerton’ are set to face. Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton will take the lead in the next instalment of the hit series, and Julie Andrews’ infamous voiceover introduces the trailer, saying: “Dearest gentle reader, we have been apart for far too long. At last, London’s fashionable set has made its return, and it seems that our bon ton is moving with the changing tide.” Penelope has finally given up on her crush on Colin, but in the clip, she reveals that she’s eager to take a husband, and after being given the cold shoulder, Colin pledges to help her find a suitor. Season 3 premieres on May 16. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/43ekr5px

The first footage of the Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” was unveiled at CinemaCon. Lionsgate studio closed out its presentation with a clip of the still-in-production film, which will hit theaters next spring. The footage included clips of Jackson’s childhood with his brothers, with the Jackson 5 glumly heading out to another show on a snowy morning, and Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s actual nephew, as the older version of Michael – both in the “Thriller” years and later performing ‘Man in the Mirror’. It was also announced that “Michael” will feature 30 songs.

Roughly 6 billion people on Earth own a phone, but only 4.5 billion have access to a working toilet.

A study shows social media is responsible for making people ruder.

New technology to help drivers escape if their vehicle becomes submerged in water, has been developed by a Kitchener ON company. Automatic Window Opening Systems Technologies says its vehicle escape system works by automatically lowering windows and connecting to emergency services, assisting drivers and passengers with getting out safely. Pressure from water pushing against a car can make it near impossible for the windows to open. And if the electrical system malfunctions, the windows may not work at all. With the new tech, even if the vehicle lands upside down in the water, it will roll itself to an upright position, and delay the opening of the windows until the vehicle is right side up. With the potential of saving hundreds of lives annually, AWOS hopes it can become a standard system in vehicles within the next 3-5 years. LINK: https://youtu.be/ZqmAHdeF1Qk

THIS is different. McDonald’s restaurants in the Netherlands have debuted a revolutionary way to attract business — by launching the world’s first billboard that smells like the food they serve. At first glance, the aromatic advertising initiative, which are logo-free, red and yellow billboards, remind you of sculptures from a minimalist modern art movement. But when pedestrians come within about 15 feet of them, they are greeted by the distinctive scent of McDonald’s fries. And how is the complex aroma of McD’s legendary French fries captured in a giant rectangle? Simple. An employee installs a tray of fries into the billboard, which relies on ventilators to “suck and diffuse” the scent. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/4wv5vyux
