THIS WEEK'S DEAR JOHN LETTER!
I've been saving up money for a down payment on a home. I almost bought one last year, but I decided to wait a little longer to save up even more. Then, during the last year, my girlfriend and I spent most of the time together and we decided to get married. That probably makes more sense anyway. My problem is this. She wants me to dip into the down payment fund to pay for an extravagant wedding. I'd like something simple. I said I'm comfortable with $4500 for the wedding and reception. I priced it out and we can have a very nice small event. She thinks we need something bigger. Her parents can't help since their company closed last year. They're on my side with the small wedding. I said we could make it up with a nice vacation for our anniversary every few years. That's not helping. Any ideas? I'd love to have the perfect wedding for my fiancé, but I also think we need to focus on getting a home purchased too! Please help!

A man living under a stolen identity and a female inmate have been charged with using a drone to smuggle drugs into a Southern California jail. The drone is suspected of carrying heroin, methamphetamine, Xanax, and muscle relaxers into the Theo Lacy Facility in the city of Orange last Sunday, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. The inmate is accused of using a jailhouse phone to direct the man where to fly the drone. The man was arrested at a Costa Mesa apartment on Tuesday. The 30-year-old woman and 41-year-old man each face multiple charges including smuggling controlled substances into a correctional facility and conspiracy. some suspicious money floating around Georgia. Fake $100 bills were
shot out of a cannon during a homecoming celebration, according to
the Hazlehurst Police Department. The bills may look real on the
surface, but if you look closer the words “For Motion Picture Use
Only” are printed on the front and back of the bills. “Please
spread the word,” the police department said on Facebook. “The
photos show a couple of examples of the fake money used.” This
isn’t the first time fake money has spread around Georgia. The
Rabun County Sheriff’s Office issued a similar warning in August.
