THIS WEEK'S DEAR JOHN LETTER!
Dear John
My boyfriend and I live in a one-bedroom apartment. His snoring has become unbearable. I can't sleep and it's affecting my work and social life. He refuses to have surgery and he said he absolutely will not even consider using a CPAP machine. My fiance says if I really loved him I wouldn't complain. I don't think it's fair that he puts the blame on me. Sleeping in another room is not an option, because we only have one room. I'm not sure what to do, should I dump him or not?
Too Tired

Shocking – but also not shocking: 82% of younger workers use artificial intelligence to do at least some of their work for them. A study conducted last month for Google Workspace found that resourceful Gen Z workers (under age 27) are making use of AI to handle fairly simple tasks, such as drafting emails from scratch and taking notes during meetings. Others said they have used ChatGPT to help renegotiate their salaries and assist with their resumes. The authors of the study concluded that the data shows how AI can help workers not only get work done “faster, and more efficiently, but also changes how they work in meaningful ways.” 88% of AI users at work said it helps them overcome “task paralysis”, which is a “mental freeze” that occurs when workday duties become too demanding.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande received equal pay for their work on “Wicked,” despite recent online buzz. A Universal spokesperson said: “Reports of pay disparity between Cynthia and Ariana are completely false and based on Internet fodder.” Over the weekend, users on TikTok and Reddit spread false claims that Grande received $15 million while Erivo was paid just $1 million for their roles in the film. Multiple outlets reported the story.
Moanapocalypse has arrived. “Moana 2” amassed a record-shattering $13.8 million in Tuesday previews, the biggest preview number ever for a Walt Disney Animation title and the second-biggest for any animated film, behind “Incredibles 2’s” $18.5 million. That’s quite a feat, considering that the Incredibles sequel opened in the summer. On Tuesday, just 48% of schools were out. There’s more. Moana 2 snagged the top Tuesday pre-Thanksgiving preview gross of all time. The sequel is widely expected to score the biggest Thanksgiving opening of all time with a 5-day debut of $125-135 million. The record is currently held by “Frozen”, with $93.6 million.
Sarah Michelle Gellar has teased that she will be appearing in the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” legacy sequel. The 47-year-old actress starred as the ill-fated ‘Helen Shivers’ in the 1997 slasher film, and has now seemingly confirmed her return on Instagram. Geller, who appeared in the 2 live-action “Scooby-Doo” movies, posted a picture of a production chair from I Know What You Did Last Summer and jokingly added the caption: “‘Scooby Doo 3’ coming soon…” While she had a starring role in the original film, Geller recently insisted she would not be in the sequel, telling PEOPLE: “I am dead!” It has been confirmed that her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. will be reprising his role as ‘Ray Bronson’. Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook will be smarter than humans in 10 years.
Did you know that you should never kiss a baby? Me neither. But according to Dr. Karan Raj, a National Health Surgeon in the UK, a baby’s immune system is not fully developed, so their risk of catching a serious infection is much higher, and therefore, it is very dangerous for them to be kissed. In a recent TikTok video, Dr. Raj warned people of the dangers of kissing a baby, pointing to a 2023 survey which revealed that 54% of new and expectant parents would “let friends and family kiss their newborn baby, unaware of the risk of serious infection.” For about the first 3 months, the infant’s immune system has fewer infection-fighting immune cells, which means that infections that cause mild symptoms in adults or older children can be life-threatening for babies. Newborns are also more vulnerable to infectious bacteria than older children and adults. Parents are advised to not feel uncomfortable about asking others to avoid kissing or touching their child. And if it’s going to happen no matter what you say, at least ask them to wash their hands thoroughly, and avoid kissing the infant on the mouth or face. The back of the head and the foot are suggested alternatives. And, of course, if the visitor is unwell when visiting a baby, they should wear a mask, and avoid getting too close. Cambridge Dictionary decided that the word of the year for 2024 is “manifest”, and now Dictionary.com has weighed in. The word “demure” was given the honor, after its popular use on social media in recent months. Demure’s surge into pop culture started with TikToker Jools Lebron’s viral video using the phrase “Very demure, very mindful.” Following that, ‘demure’ saw a nearly 1200% increase in usage in digital web media alone, according to Dictionary.com. The term’s definition says: “to be characterized by shyness and modesty and to be reserved.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/ycyvev4d
