This #MovieStarMonday we visit Paul Rust, a writer and performer based in Los Angeles. Paul co-created the critically acclaimed Netflix series LOVE, Executive Produced by Judd Apatow, and would star in and write for the show for three seasons. Prior, he wrote for IFC's COMEDY BANG! BANG! for five seasons. He can most recently be seen featured in Jason Reitman's SATURDAY NIGHT and voicing Ham Tobin on THE GREAT NORTH.
On the feature side, Paul starred in I LOVE YOU, BETH COOPER and delivered a memorable performance in Quentin Tarantino's INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS. His other appearances in film and television include HISTORY OF THE WORLD PART II, SEMI-PRO, SUPER FUN NIGHT, AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE, LULU IS A RHINOCEROS, and PARKS AND RECREATION. He co-wrote and appeared in PEE WEE'S BIG HOLIDAY for Netflix. He previously appeared in the independent feature, FUN MOM DINNER, opposite Toni Collette, Molly Shannon, and Adam Scott, which premiered at SXSW, and in Zach Galifiankis' BETWEEN TWO FERNS: THE MOVIE, and in QUEENPINS with Kristen Bell.
His new project is The Napa Boys, It follows a group of friends on mystical and often wine-related adventures. In this installment, the leader of the Napa Boys, the lothario Jack Jr., rallies his reluctant beta co-captain, Miles Jr., and the rest of the gang for one last journey into the unknown, with their path set forth by the mysterious and infamous Sommelier. Joined this time by Puck, a bright young podcaster and fan of the Napa Boys graphic novel, the group sets out to learn about friendship, adventure, love, loss and viticulture.

If you want your teen to drive safely, all you need to do is this: Pay them. A University of Pennsylvania study found that paying drivers (of all ages) to be safer, works – but not when it comes to phones. Nearly 1,500 participants were monitored for risky behaviors and offered up to $100 in incentives. Speeding dropped by 11-13%, hard braking by 16-21%, and rapid acceleration by 16-25%. And those improvements largely stuck even after payments stopped. But here’s the “but”: Handheld phone use didn’t budge. That’s right: paying drivers not to use their phones had no impact on how often they did it. The researchers suggest phone use is a deliberate, reward-driven choice – and the instant gratification of checking a message may outweigh the promise of a future cash bonus.

Allison Janney, Jeff Bridges and Jesse Eisenberg will lead the voice cast of “Minions & Monsters,” the latest “Despicable Me” spinoff. They’ll be joined by Christoph Waltz, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan and “South Park” co-creator Trey Parker. A prequel to 2010’s “Despicable Me” and sequel to 2022’s “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” the newest adventure is set in the world of 1920s Hollywood as the highlighter-yellow underlings work to find the lead of their monster movie. “The Last of Us” Season 3 has cast both Jason Ritter and Patrick Wilson in recurring roles. Ritter will play ‘Hanley’, who is described as a WLF soldier. Wilson will play ‘Jerry’, father to Kaitlyn Dever’s main character ‘Abby. “The Last of Us” was renewed for a third season in 2025, ahead of the Season 2 premiere. Based on the hit video game franchise of the same name, the show takes place in a world decimated by a widespread fungal infection that has turned much of the population into zombie-esque creatures.
Grey Goose has announced a collab with one of the most anticipated sequels of the year “The Devil Wears Prada 2”, which hits theaters May 1. The French vodka company has enlisted the help of supermodel and TV personality Heidi Klum, who played herself in the first film, and returns for the sequel. She’ll star in original content for the brand, with a “Devil’s Roast” cocktail in hand. That’s an espresso martini cocktail, a reimagining of Runway Magazine editor ‘Miranda Priestly’s’ coffee order from the original film – but with Grey Goose.

Amazon’s Alexa just got a bold new attitude. Last week, the company introduced an adults-only “Sassy” mode for Alexa+, giving the AI assistant a sharper, more sarcastic personality…that can even include the occasional swear word. Users must pass extra security checks to enable it, and it’s disabled when kids’ settings are on. The feature joins other personality options like “Chill” and “Sweet”, all part of Amazon’s plan to make Alexa more customizable. In Sassy mode, Alexa promises to “help first, judge always,” delivering answers with a side of roast. Early reactions online are mixed. One user called the upgrade a “whole new level of Alexa,” joking that “there’s not room for 2 sassy pants in this house.” A TikTokker said she’s been “getting into fights” with her device lately, adding that the digital assistant got “a little too sassy” after judging her for adding chocolate and licorice to her grocery list. Amazon is rolling out new ultra-fast delivery options as it battles rivals like Instacart, DoorDash, and Uber Eats. More than 90,000 products will now be eligible for 1-hour or 3-hour delivery, clearly labeled in the Amazon app and searchable with a new filter. Amazon Prime members will pay $9.99 for 1-hour delivery or $4.99 for 3 hours, while non-members pay more. The service is launching in hundreds of U.S. cities, with a dedicated storefront highlighting eligible items.
