"DWuets" is a full album of duets written entirely by 17-time Oscar nominee and Special Oscar recipient Diane Warren - marking the first time Warwick and Warren have worked together. The DW in the duet album's title is a homage to Dionne and Diane's initials.

SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH

There’s no evidence that fluoridation of drinking water results in lowering of children’s IQ. Some U.S. communities have been removing fluoride from drinking water over those fears, but a long-term study following more than 10,000 Americans from their teens into their 80s found no link between fluoridation and reduced intelligence at any age. The findings challenge earlier studies that suggested harm, noting those often relied on unusually high fluoride levels or non-U.S. research, making them less relevant to typical American water systems.

BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN

Ryan Reynolds confirmed in an interview that he’s got some stuff already written for ‘Deadpool‘s’ return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While there’s no info yet on what Reynolds is cooking up for his foul-mouthed superhero, it appears it will not be a standalone “Deadpool 4” movie. Quote: “I have some stuff kind of written, but I don’t think I am ever going to center him again.” While that may mean Deadpool’s life as a big screen main character is be over as far as Reynolds’ iteration of the character is concerned, Reynolds said that Deadpool is also “a supporting character. He is a guy who is great in a group.”

The first reviews for the Michael Jackson biopic "Michael" are out, and Rotten Tomatoes critics are not entirely thrilled with the big-screen story of the King of Pop. Starring the late music icon’s nephew (and Jermaine Jackson’s son) Jaafar Jackson, Michael plays in previews today, before opening widely in theaters tomorrow. At last check, Michael had a 26% “rotten” critics’ score Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, based on 42 reviews. Michael traces the singer’s career as a child artist with his brothers in The Jackson 5 through his solo career as an adult on his way to becoming one of the most influential voices the pop music.

SCOOP OF THE DAY

If you’ve used AI to create one of those cool caricatures of yourself, don’t think that you have exclusive rights to it. The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear a case on whether AI-generated art can be copyrighted. In 2018, artist Stephen Thaler sought copyright for a piece created by personal AI software, but the U.S. Copyright Office rejected it in 2022, saying only human-made works qualify. A 2025 report reinforced that AI outputs alone aren’t copyrightable, though human-guided creations might be. Thaler has also appealed patent rejections, arguing AI inventions deserve protection, but the court refused, saying that the Missouri computer scientist’s art was not eligible for copyright protection because it was not created by a human.

WEIRD NEWS

Police were relieved when a recent welfare check on an elderly woman found her safe…and playing video games. Westlake, Ohio cops were called to check on the senior after she missed a scheduled safety check through the city’s “Confirm OK” program. Concern grew when she didn’t answer calls or her door, even though her car was in the garage. After entering the home, officers found her safe and sound in her bedroom – fully absorbed in a “bubble pop” video game — and chasing a personal high score. She said she simply didn’t hear the phone. A police spokesperson later said “Everyone got a good laugh out of it.”
