SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH
So…do you think you’re underpaid? Who’s going to say “no”, right? Right. A new global survey suggests many employees feel significantly underpaid, with 1 in 5 saying their salary falls “far short” of what they deserve. The results revealed that compensation remains top of mind for global workers. Across 6 countries, 18% of workers said they would need about a 32% pay increase to feel fairly compensated. 62% said they are aware of how much pay their coworkers receive. Most believe that pay transparency matters, and many would push for policy changes - or even leave - if it isn’t provided. Many respondents agreed that pay should reflect experience, skills, and location, and a large share said they support stronger government regulation in that regard. Some also think AI could help improve fairness and reduce bias in pay decisions.

“Stranger Things: The First Shadow” will complete its run at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End on December 27, and at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway on January 3, 2027, the show’s producers announced. By the time it closes, the production will have run for over 3 years in London and for a little more than a year and a half on Broadway. Critics were mixed on the show, though its special effects were praised. It won 4 Tony Awards, including for its scenic, sound and lighting design as well as a special honor for illusions and technical effects.
Jeremy Strong is wired in for his latest role. Sony has revealed the first look at the “Succession” star playing Meta CEO ‘Mark Zuckerberg’ in “The Social Reckoning”. That’s Aaron Sorkin’s follow-up to the Oscar-winning 2010 movie “The Social Network”. The Social Reckoning is actually being described as a “companion piece” to the first film, rather than a sequel. Strong takes over the role of Zuckerberg from Jesse Eisenberg in the new film, which hits theaters Oct. 9. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/yv7h64j4
“24 Jump Street” is in the works, and stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube are in talks to return for the third installment in the crime comedy franchise. “21 Jump Street” starred Hill and Tatum as a couple of underachieving cops who go undercover at a local high school to take down a drug ring. Ice Cube played their superior, ‘Captain Dickson’. Rodney Rothman (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”) will direct the film and wrote the script with Hill and Meghan Malloy. The first film grossed more than $200 million, and the sequel grossed over $330 million. Why “24” Jump Street? As an IG post points out, “It took so long to make, we had to skip one.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/mr86tvvs

If you’re wondering what will be the 2026 Drink of the Summer, I’ve got an answer for you…in fact, I’ve got a few. Delish says people will go back to basics in these complex times, and means a spirit-and-soda-water summer. The Wall Street Journal is all in on ‘AlbariƱo’, an Iberian white wine variety. And HuffPost predicts the Spanish ‘tinto de verano’ will rule the season. It is part red wine and part lemon-lime soda.

WEIRD NEWS
It’s regarded as a “grand British tradition”, and many others take part in it as well: knocking back a few drinks at the airport before your flight – even if it’s an early morning departure. Well, if that’s your plan, you may want to think twice. The UK government is considering creating a database of disruptive airline passengers, that would alert carriers when travelers have a history of causing trouble, particularly while intoxicated. Airlines would then decide whether to allow those passengers to fly. Industry leaders say drunken behavior is a growing problem, with an increasing number of flights forced to divert because of unruly travelers. Airlines including Jet2 and Ryanair have called for tougher measures and already pursue offenders for diversion costs. The goal is to target repeat offenders whose behavior threatens passengers, crew, and holidays.

THE LIST
AI-PROOF JOB SKILLS:
According to an Oxford-trained career expert…
1. Communication Skills: Communication matters less about volume and more about judgment – choosing what to say, how to say it, and building trust with real audiences. AI can generate content, but humans still decide what’s worth saying in the first place.
2. Social Skills: Empathy, rapport, and conflict resolution remain essential because people still want real human connection. Even with AI improving at interaction, emotional understanding and trust still belong to humans.
3. Leadership, judgment and decision-making skills: They become more valuable as AI handles routine tasks, shifting human work toward judgment calls. The key skill is deciding what actually matters before anything gets done.
4. Operations management skills: Operations management keeps organizations running through hiring, systems, logistics, and problem-solving behind the scenes. Even as AI automates admin work, humans are still needed for messy real-world coordination.
5. AI-implementation skills: These skills focus on using AI tools effectively in real workflows, not just experimenting with them. The thing is knowing how to guide, supervise, and integrate AI into complex work.
