57% of workers plan to work fully in-office this year. That’s a big shift from recent years when millions transformed home spaces into makeshift workstations. The survey of American workers found about one-quarter still plan to work fully remotely, while 18% will split their time between home and office. Gen Z workers showed the strongest preference for home-based work, with 28% wanting fully remote arrangements. Baby boomers were found to be the biggest fans of separating home from work worlds, with 63% preferring full-time office work.

Two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett says she is retiring from acting in the near future. The actor-producer said in an interview with the UK’s Radio Times that she isn’t sure calling herself an “actress” is quite accurate, quote: “Because I’m giving up… My family roll their eyes every time I say it, but I mean it. I am serious about giving up acting. [There are] a lot of things I want to do with my life.” The Australian star spoke ahead of BBC’s Radio 4 airing of Blanchett’s first radio play, an adaptation of Wallace Shawn’s “The Fever”. She recently wrapped up work on “Father, Mother, Sister, Brother”, set for release this year, also starring Adam Driver.
NBC‘s “Night Court” has set up a colliding of the “Big Bang” Universe, as Simon Helberg of “The Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon’s” Raegan Revord are set to guest star in the Season 3 finale airing May 6. Night Court star and exec producer Melissa Rauch played Helberg’s wife on the CBS smash The Big Bang Theory. Although Helberg’s role is under wraps, his character is set for a game-changing cameo that could shake things up for Rauch’s ‘Abby’. Revord will play ‘Shelby’, a teen runaway inclined to marry her soulmate, in an homage to the Michael J. Fox episode from the original series.
Seven years after “Duck Dynasty” ended, we now know when the Robertson family is coming back. A&E’s “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” will premiere on the network May 28. The revival, which was announced in January and has already been renewed for another season, will follow both the original Robertson family and their new additions. Fans can expect appearances by original series favorites including Uncle Si and Miss Kay, plus Willie and Korie’s now-adult kids – as well as their new grandchildren.
DID YA KNOW!?
Did you know bubble wrap was originally invented as wallpaper? If you find popping bubble wrap one of the best things about getting mail, imagine it being plastered all over the walls of your home! Engineer Al Fielding and Swiss inventor Marc Chavannes invented bubble wrap by accident in 1957 while trying to create a textured wallpaper by sealing two shower curtains together to trap air bubbles.

OF THE DAY
Many Gen Zers are taking a cue from Steve Jobs and developing their own ‘work uniforms’ in an effort at eliminating the need to painstakingly select what to wear to work each day. The Apple founder was famous for his signature style that he wore pretty much every day: black turtlenecks, Levi’s 501s, and New Balance sneakers. Now, TikTokkers are putting together their own simple “Steve Jobs-coded” looks. Psychotherapist Eloise Skinner explained that Zoomeras have expressed “some level of confusion about what to wear for work,” given that many starting their careers working from home in their pajamas during the pandemic. Having a dedicated “work uniform”, whether or not it mimics Jobs’ clothing choices, helps Gen Z avoid “decision fatigue”, said one influencer, who showcased her work uniform rotation in a Tik Tok featuring gray and black outfits. WEIRD NEWS
Eating in front of a mirror makes a meal more satisfying. In 2022, researchers at Nagoya University in Japan conducted an experiment, in which participants ate in front of a mirror. They showed clear benefits from watching their reflection while chowing down on bowls of popcorn, finding it tasted better and eating more of it than when they were placed in front of a wall. It was also found that simply looking at a photograph of oneself eating was linked to an increase in the amount and enjoyment of food consumed.
