SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH
If you’re a woman, and you’d like to age as slowly as possible, then have 2 or 3 kids, says a new Finnish study. Researchers tracked nearly 15,000 women for 45 years, and found that those with 2 or 3 children showed the slowest biological aging and best survival rates. Women with about 7 children, and those with none, showed signs of faster aging and higher risk of death. The researchers say the study shows association, not cause, and notes that genetics, lifestyle, and social factors also influence long-term health.

Kristen Bell will return as host of this year’s SAG-AFTRA’s Actor Awards streaming live on Netflix Sunday, March 1, from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall. She previously hosted the event in 2018 and 2025. Kristen quote: “It was an easy decision to come back for a third…What I’m most excited for is the fact that I’ll be doing what every actor does best…sing.”
Meghan Markle’s heavily-promoted lifestyle show “With Love, Meghan” won’t be returning to Netflix after the duchess called the show “a lot of work.” Page Six quotes an insider as saying that while the show is “not returning as a series”, there have “been conversations about holiday specials.” Markle will instead reportedly concentrate on building her lifestyle brand, As Ever. When Season 2 of With Love, Meghan debuted last August, it didn’t even make the list of the streamer’s Top 10 shows in the US that week.

SCOOP
OF THE DAY
Changing diapers doesn’t just test your patience…and the strength of your stomach — it actually rewires your gross-out meter. Researchers from the University of Bristol found that thanks to dealing with their kids, parents become somewhat immune to certain gross things…but only after their babies start eating solid foods. Parents of milk-fed infants are just as horrified by…well, you know…as non-parents, but once weaning begins, their tolerance skyrockets. Moms and dads don’t just become less bothered by their own child’s messes, they actually develop a remarkable tolerance to all kinds of disgusting things tested in the study, from vomit on sidewalks to unnamed bathroom disasters. And the effect sticks around even after their kids’ diaper years are over. Scientists believe months of repeated exposure gradually turns down the brain’s disgust alarm – something that’s normally very hard to change. In short: enough poop, puke, and chaos, and what once made you gag becomes just another Tuesday!

WEIRD NEWS
Here’s an interesting way to embark on a fitness journey: Approaching 50 and struggling with his weight and mental health, Skip Boyce locked himself inside his bedroom on Jan. 10, and plans to live there for an entire year. The 49-year-old from Utah has transformed the space into a self-contained “isolation room” where he will sleep, exercise, cook and livestream, while focusing on building healthier habits. Weighing 315 pounds (142kg), Skip hopes to reach 205 pounds (92kg) – and also plans to learn new skills, including a new language, and strength training. His wife and adult children support the plan, with his wife delivering food to his door. Skip quote: “If I walk out of this room with a healthy lifestyle and good habits, I’ll be a very happy guy.” LINK: https://www.instagram.com/theisolationyear

THE LIST
What are the items that you always seem to lose? Besides your patience…and maybe your sanity? Well, according to a survey of Brits, the TV remote is at the top of the list. A poll of 2,000 adults also found that 52% have, at some point, arrived at a checkout or returns desk without the receipt they needed. On average, people lose at least 3 physical items a month, with many spending up to an hour searching for them. The problem extends to digital life too: 83% struggle to find files on their devices, and a third spend hours each month hunting for documents or photos. The research, commissioned by Samsung ahead of its Galaxy Book6 launch, suggests smarter search tools could save time and frustration in both physical and digital clutter. Here are the items that survey respondents said they misplace most often…
1. TV remote
2. Glasses/sunglasses
3. Receipts/vouchers (coupons, gift cards)
4. House keys
5. Mobile phone
6. Earbuds/headphones
7. Paperwork
8. Car keys
9. Chargers
10. Bank cards
