SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH

When it comes to midweek dinners, we’re seriously stuck on repeat. Six in 10 adults say they eat the same meal up to 4 times a week. Why? Survey respondents said they’re often too tired (44%) or didn’t plan ahead (39%). Nearly half of people under 35 don’t decide what’s for dinner until they’re home, while many 18-24-year-olds wait until they’re actually in the grocery aisle. Convenience, speed, and habit keep menus boring, proving that “What’s for dinner?” is still often the hardest question of the day.

BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN

The dark side of “The Price Is Right” is getting the scripted treatment. The Gotham Group is developing a new project based on David Kushner’s bombshell 2024 report exposing iconic host Bob Barker’s private dark side and the on-screen models who fought him behind the scenes. Kushner uncovered shocking allegations of manipulation, obstruction, sexual harassment, and racism, many of them pointing directly to Barker, who died in 2023 at age 99. The story has already been developed into the the E! docuseries “Dirty Rotten Scandals: The Price Is Right”, but will now be turned into a scripted series.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have sent out their save-the-dates, revealing the date and location of their highly anticipated summer wedding. Since their engagement announcement last summer, rumors have circulated about their wedding venue, with many expecting it to happen on the singer’s massive beach house in Rhode Island. But Page Six is reporting the pair will tie the knot in New York City on July 3. Swift has been a lover of New York City for more than a decade, buying 2 penthouses there for nearly $20 million in 2014. She bought a neighboring townhouse for $18 million in 2017 and an additional second-floor unit for almost $10 million in 2018.

JOKE OF THE DAY

SCOOP OF THE DAY

A Missouri man was recently electrocuted while trying to steal copper wire from a live utility line.

Baseball’s infamous new automated strike zone is doing more than calling pitches – it’s quietly shrinking players. With MLB’s robot umpire system requiring exact measurements, hitters are now being re-measured with strict precision, exposing years of height exaggeration. Pittsburgh’s Jake Mangum dropped from 6-foot-even to 5-foot-11, while Cleveland catcher Bo Naylor fell 3 inches to 5-foot-9. Gavin Lux of the Rays also lost 3 inches. Even stars like Alex Bregman have been resized. The system defines each player’s strike zone based on their true height, leaving no room for rounding up. One exception? LA Dodger Shohei Ohtani. He somehow got even taller.

WEIRD NEWS

A Philadelphia Uber driver got an unexpected passenger after picking up 2 riders leaving a reptile show in Philadelphia. The next morning, after returning home, he opened his trunk and discovered a live ball python inside. During the ride, one passenger had mentioned something falling out of their bag, but the driver said he didn’t have time to stop and check. Later, after realizing what was left behind, he called police. Officers safely recovered the snake and relocated it, later noting the call was “a little outside the usual.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/yw672suv
