SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH
Eating more slowly could be one of the easiest ways to improve your health – no dieting required. Nutrition experts say taking extra time to chew gives the body a chance to release hormones that signal fullness, helping you naturally eat fewer calories. Studies show slowing meals down by just 20% can reduce calorie intake by up to 15%. Fast eaters, meanwhile, face higher risks of obesity, high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes. Slower eating also improves digestion, and helps the body process sugar more effectively. Simple tricks for slowing down include putting down cutlery between bites, avoiding screen distractions, and choosing crunchier, chewier foods that naturally slow eating pace.
BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN
After 7 years, 3 seasons, and 26 episodes, “Euphoria” is officially over. Sam Levinson – the HBO show’s creator, writer and director, made the announcement on Popcast, New York Times’ music podcast. That means the Season 3 closer, titled “In God We Trust,” was actually its series finale. The news doesn’t come as a surprise, given that series lead Zendaya has said in interviews that she believed the show was ending after Season 3. HBO later confirmed the news.
Billy Eichner is saying “never say never” when it comes to reviving his popular game show “Billy on the Street”. During a recent podcast, where he was promoting his audio memoir “Billy on Billy”, he reflected on the “second, (and) third life” the game series has experienced on social media. He said: “It’s crazy. It has sustained in a very unexpected way.” He also mentioned that people often beg of him: ‘Please bring the show back. The world is so awful. Please do this’, which he is “very touched by” and he wants “to honor that”. Billy on the Street aired from 2011 to 2014 on Fuse, and for 2 additional seasons on truTV.
Broadway’s longest-running American musical is getting the all-star treatment. “Chicago” will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Broadway with a special performance during the 2026 Tony Awards. It’ll feature an eclectic lineup of stars, including Tony Awards host Pink, as well as fellow Grammy winner Queen Latifah, who earned an Academy Award nomination for portraying ‘Matron “Mama” Morton’ in the 2002 film adaptation of the musical.

OF THE DAY
These days, even tarot card readers are using AI. Researchers presented the results of their new study at the 2026 CGI Conference, in which they interviewed 12 tarot practitioners who use ChatGPT in their readings. The feeling is that AI helps them with self-doubt, offers alternative perspectives, and saves time. While some users find AI helpful, many tarot communities remain skeptical, worrying that chatbots may weaken intuition or simply tell people what they want to hear.
THOUGHTS TO THINK ABOUT:
☞ You have more ancestors than all your ancestors.
☞ The letter ‘x’ probably has more uses in math than in the English language.
☞ The phrase “Don’t you dare sounds normal”, but “Do not you dare” sounds weird.
☞ Butter is food lotion.
☞ Horses run around on their fingernails…or toenails.

WEIRD NEWS
A Philadelphia pizza shop is turning heads with a slice priced at $55 – but it’s not your average cheese pizza. Marina’s Pizza Co. has introduced a limited-time “Caviar Pizza”, topped with imported Italian cheeses and served alongside a one-ounce jar of premium caviar. The slice arrives on a gold plate with a mother-of-pearl spoon that customers get to keep. Diners can either have the caviar added for them -- or apply it themselves. The shop says the fishy slice was created to celebrate major upcoming events like America’s 250th birthday, the World Cup, and the MLB All-Star Game. Regular slices still go for around $5, making this version a serious luxury upgrade. Despite the price, reactions online have been enthusiastic, with many people saying they’re eager to try it. THE LIST
THE MOST RAGE-INDUCING TECH PROBLEMS:
or “Ways the Tech Industry Could Stop Being Such a Colossal Goddamn Pain in the Ass”, according to Brian Phillips of The Ringer…
1. Actually text me the one-time passcode, rather than saying you sent it to me while instead texting it to the molten core of the earth.
2. Do not make me scan a QR code and go through an 11-step account activation process just to park my car for 7 minutes.
3. When I click the “remember this device” box, maybe, I don’t know, try to remember the device?
4. Please, please stop asking me to verify my humanity by clicking on tiny motorcycles.
5. I want to watch 2 YouTube videos. I watch one of them. I click the back button. I see the other video’s thumbnail for about one one-hundredth of a second before the page scrambles, all the images change, and the video I wanted to watch is lost forever in the maelstrom of time and space.
6. Stop connecting me to customer service chatbots unequipped to handle even a single conceivable customer service issue.
7. Don’t make me check in online 6 separate times for every doctor’s appointment, when we both know I’m going to have to answer the same questions when I get there.
8. Stop doing the thing where the banner reappears and hides the very lines of text I’m trying to read.
9. For the love of God, please figure out shipping status updates.
10. Get touch screens out of cars!
11. Could streaming services perhaps go back to being better than cable?
12. Make weather apps accurately relay the weather.
