Listening to your favorite playlist might do more than lift your mood — it could actually help ease pain. A new review of 57 studies found that pleasant music, choosing your own songs, and even moving along with the beat were all linked to reduced pain. And it’s not just a matter of providing a distraction. Brain scans suggest music may influence areas involved in processing pain and quiet some of the repetitive, self-focused thinking that can make chronic pain feel worse. That means listening to music could one day be a meaningful part of pain treatment.

Sylvester Stallone admits that he never formally accepted President Trump’s offer to name him a “special ambassador” to Hollywood, saying that he only learned about the appointment while watching television. In an interview, Stallone said: “I was watching TV one night and they go, ‘So Stallone and Mel Gibson and Jon Voight will be …’ And I went, ‘What?’…Because if they had asked me in the beginning, I would have said, this is not possible.” The announcement, made by Trump on Truth Social, did not elaborate on the processes and responsibilities of the role.
A year after getting pulled from its schedule, Apple TV is letting “The Savant” out of witness protection. The show stars Jessica Chastain as an investigator who infiltrates online hate groups to prevent incidents of mad violence. The streamer decided to hold onto the show in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death — a decision Chastain disagreed with. The Savant will now premiere in 2027. Apple’s decision to finally release The Savant comes after its most successful Emmy Awards ever.

One way to get ready for another hectic workweek is to enjoy a “French Sunday”. In France, Sunday is traditionally a day to slow down, relax, and enjoy yourself – and others are starting to embrace the idea as a way to beat burnout. Instead of tackling the to-do list, try sleeping in, meeting friends, reading, taking a leisurely walk, or simply doing something you enjoy. Experts say protecting time for genuine rest can reduce stress, ease the “Sunday Scaries,” and even leave you feeling more energized and focused when Monday rolls around.
What do you assume about people who keep their phones on silent? Do you think of them as calm, focused and totally in control? Turns out… maybe not! A 2022 Penn State study found people checked their phones almost twice as often when notifications were completely silenced. That’s about 98 times a day, compared with 53 times when sound or vibration was turned on. And for people with serious FOMO, checking jumped to around 120 times a day. Other research links lower phone use with self-discipline. So, putting your phone on silent might mean “I’m protecting my peace” – or it might actually mean “I’M REALLY GOING TO NEED TO KNOW WHAT I’M MISSING…IN ABOUT 3 MINUTES!”

Apple’s iOS 27 update will introduce a feature called “iPhone Handoff”, allowing users to pair 2 phones, and designate one as the main device and the other as a companion. That could be especially handy with Apple’s new foldable iPhone Duo, which is so expensive that some people might not want to take it with them to certain places where they are more likely to lose it, break it, or have it stolen.
