SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH

Only children are smarter, happier and more creative than those who grow up with siblings, according to a new study. A team of scientists in China used methods including brain imaging, behavioral assessments and questionnaires to evaluate over 7,000 people, ages 18-30. The researchers wrote: “Contrary to the stereotypical impression of associations between only children and problem behaviors, we found positive correlations” Only children were found to generally have better memory, “superior language ability,” higher “life satisfaction” and were more open and creative. They were also found to be less impulsive and reward-dependent, which is linked to needing approval from others.

BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN

Brad Pitt will star in an upcoming sequel to “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” Although he won’t direct it, Quentin Tarantino is writing the follow-up. The project, which does not have an official title, is being set up at Netflix, and David Fincher is set to direct. Pitt will reprise his role as stuntman and potential wife killer ‘Cliff Booth’. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” was released in theaters in 2019, and Pitt won an Oscar for supporting actor for his performance.

Jeff Bezos sounds like he’s throwing some Amazon money around — because his company is reportedly trying to acquire TikTok. Amazon submitted a bid to buy TikTok as the video app nears the Saturday deadline to separate from Chinese owner ByteDance or face a ban in the US, says the New York Times. The report says the Amazon bid came in at the last minute – but the Times also notes the offer is not being taken seriously. Donald Trump told reporters Sunday there are several potential buyers showing interest, and hinted a deal would be made before the deadline.

DID YA KNOW!?

Did you know the art of Bambi was inspired by Chinese landscape paintings?

Created by the innovated Chinese-born lead artist of the film, Tyrus Wong, the backgrounds in Disney's Bambi were inspired by landscape paintings of the Song dynasty. Even though the film was a critical success, Wong would face discrimination and poverty before finding acclaim once again in the 90s.

SCOOP OF THE DAY

A new study found that chocolate is better for the brain than exercise.

Just in time for an Easter feast, Cadbury has unveiled what it is calling the “world’s largest” Easter Crème Egg. How big? Let’s just say that even I’d be hard-pressed to eat it all in one sitting. Here’s how Cadbury puts it: It is as tall as an emperor penguin, and weighs as much as a newborn horse. To you and I, that means it is 3 feet high (90cm), and weighs 99.2 pounds (45kg). And according to the chocolatier, the whole thing is a legit Cadbury Easter Crème Egg, made of real chocolate, with the real gooey filling, and the signature touch of the engraved twinkle. The ‘wrapping’ had to be painted on, though, because: Have you ever seen a piece of foil big enough for a 100-pound egg? It took 2 days to make, and according to its creators, nobody “gets to eat the egg, unfortunately”. It’s currently on display at the Birmingham, England tourist attraction Cadbury World.

The “wolfdog” named ‘Cadabomb Okami’, is a first-of-its-kind cross between an actual wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd. The 8-month-old pup was born in the US, and is already weighs over 165lbs (75kg). The so-called ‘rarest dog in the world’ was purchased by an Indian dog enthusiast last month, who says he owns over 150 dog breeds, and makes a living by showing off his unique collection to excited crowds.
