So…given the choice, which would you prefer: A traditional holiday season celebration – or a solo vacation? Be honest, now! According to a new survey, almost half of us (45%) would take the suntan lotion and dash! The survey asked 2,000 Americans about their travel plans, and found that 63% will be traveling this year (up from 41% last year). But that doesn’t mean they will be travelling to their idea of a perfect getaway. Many will be taking a trip to be with extended family over the holidays. Among those planning a possible vacation, though tropical getaways and small towns tied for the top destination people would be interested in visiting this holiday season (both 51%). They were followed, in order, by all-inclusive resorts (50%), family-friendly destinations (43%) and snowy mountains (43%). Would-be vacationers said they’d be willing to spend just over $1,500 for a getaway.

Scientists at Kühne Logistics University have discovered a tendency for employees to act arrogantly toward their peers and co-workers after receiving a lot of praise from higher-ups. The researchers said: “This is especially true when privileged employees are already dominant…In this case, some are even willing to undermine their coworkers.”

It’s been more than 4 years since Season 2 of HBO’s Big Little Lies”, but Nicole Kidman says Season 3 is on its way. During a Q&A at the CME Group Tour Championship, she said: “I loved Big Little Lies. We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI.” The casual remark has fueled speculation that a new installment may finally be coming together. The prospect has occasionally come up, and HBO has been largely non-committal.

NBC is the latest network to unveil its game plan for the strike-delayed TV season. Safety Shot, a new blood alcohol detox drink set to launch next month (in the US), supposedly reduces blood alcohol content in less than an hour, and makes hangovers a thing of the past. Using “scientifically proven ingredients”, Safety Shot is said to work by enhancing metabolic pathways that break down blood alcohol levels and creating a protective layer around the stomach, to prevent residual alcohol absorption into the body. Ingredients include a “tailored selection of all-natural vitamins and minerals and nootropics” to lower blood alcohol levels faster than any other hangover cure — while enhancing mental clarity. Safety Shot will be available at pharmacies in a 12-ounce can, selling for $4.99.
