Following his arrest for possession of a hypodermic needle containing methamphetamine, a 380-pound Florida Man was hit with additional felony charges after jail personnel discovered a bag of meth “wedged deep within the belly button cavity of the defendant.” Police responding late Friday to a suspicious person call placed by employees of a McDonald’s in Clearwater arrested Martin Skelly when a search of the 41-year-old St. Petersburg resident turned up the loaded needle. Following Skelly’s collar for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, cops asked him if he was in possession of any other contraband, since he could face additional charges if he brought illegal items into the county jail. Skelly denied having “any additional contraband on his person.” However, during intake processing at the jail, Skelly was subjected to a thorough body search that resulted in the discovery of a small plastic bag containing 2.7 grams of meth. A jail deputy reported that the baggie was “wedged deep within the belly button cavity” of the 5’ 8” defendant.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Philadelphia say they have seized more than 20,000 fake Oral-B toothbrush heads that were bound for an address in Delran, N.J. The products were found inside an air cargo shipment on Oct. 1 and had been flagged “due to poor packaging and questionable quality,” the agency said. “Counterfeit brush heads are manufactured in unsanitary facilities with substandard materials that may sicken users or cause bleeding to a user’s gums or mouth, and structural defects may cause the brush head to detach and potentially choke users,” it added in a statement. CBP says if the products were authentic, the combined retail value would be $95,600. The shipment contained 1,200 10-packs and 2,800 3-packs of the fake toothbrush heads.

Firefighters who responded Wednesday night to a Phoenix home found a 17-year-old girl in the chimney who had gotten stuck as she tried to sneak back into her house after a late night, FOX10 reported. According to another teen, only identified by FOX10 as Yasmeen, her friend became trapped after trying to get into the house and was stuck for about an hour and a half before rescuers arrived. The two girls reportedly came home to find Yasmeen’s house had been completely locked up. With no covert way to enter, the friend decided to climb up on the roof. "She thought about going down the chimney,” she told the station. "I didn't know it was blocked in the bottom. I never thought it was blocked on the bottom, so she went down and she started freaking out." She said the girl, who has not been identified, began to panic. "She was, like, 'call 911!' She couldn't breathe," Yasmeen said. Firefighters took nearly 40 minutes to rescue the teen who, according to FOX10, was covered in soot when she was freed. As for Yasmeen’s parents, the homeowners? They were less than pleased. "They were so mad," Yasmeen said. "Really mad."

A mother and daughter were caught with sixty-two pounds of pot in their luggage at a Dallas airport. 41-year-old Bridget Deque Wilkins and 22-year-old Victoria Denee Wilkins were taken into custody Thursday at Dallas Love Field after a detective and K-9 smelled marijuana emanating from a checked bag just taken off a Southwest Airlines flight from Los Angeles. Bridget Wilkins told officers that she and her daughter, both of Los Angeles, were visiting Dallas for the weekend. The elder Wilkins consented to a search of four bags in total that had been checked by the pair, leading officers to find twenty-seven bundles of pot in her bags and thirty-six more in her daughter’s luggage. The marijuana in the suitcases was packaged identically — double-bagged and then vacuum-sealed inside larger bags. Police confiscated the pot along with the women’s luggage, clothing, and cellphones. The pair has since been released from the Dallas County Jail after posting $5,000 bond on charges of second-degree felony possession of marijuana. (https://bit.ly/2CGDMNk)

Emily Peck couldn’t believe what she was seeing outside her northern Michigan home. A woman in Michigan took a video showing earthworms all over the snow, prompting many to ask how they appeared. (Source: WLUC)
It’s raining worms. It’s snowing worms,” she said in a video she recorded for her husband and then sent to WLUC TV. When the station posted the video on Facebook, it led to a lot of curiosity and confusion over her discovery. Soon, others claimed they saw earthworms as well, while others suggested the worms may have crawled out from under the several inches of snow. Others theorized that they fell from trees. Some joked that it was a sign of the apocalypse. While there wasn’t an immediate explanation for the worms in Michigan, this isn’t the first time this kind of discovery has been reported. Norweigan media reported in 2015 about a biology teacher who found “thousands of earthworms on the surface of the snow” while skiing. He initially thought the worms surfaced from the snow, but he rejected the idea because there was at least 1.5 feet of snow on the ground. The teacher found a report of a similar phenomenon in neighboring Sweden in the 1920s.

Imagine sitting at home, minding your own business when you hear a noise. You go to investigate and find a hole in the floor with an eye staring up at you. Paul Mohlman didn’t have to watch a horror film to witness this exact situation in his home. Molhman said he was sitting on his couch Tuesday morning in North Knoxville when he heard a weird noise coming from his roommate’s bedroom. “It sounded like something fell. Something heavy,” Mohlman said. When he went to check it out, Mohlman found a pipe laying on the floor and a hole in the floorboard next to it. Trying to figure out what happened, Mohlman looked down the hole and, to his surprise, saw a green eye staring right back at him. “It was a Caucasian dude. He wasn’t wearing a shirt; had no shoes on,” Mohlman said. Mohlman said he tried asking the man why he was under there. “What are you doing down there? Did the landlord call you? Are you hear to work on plumbing,” Mohlman asked. Mohlman said the man mumbled something back and then started to move around slowly, as if he was trying to hide. He called police and grabbed his .22-caliber rifle. “I let him know that I have a gun. And I said ‘I don’t want to shoot you, but what are you doing,’ ” Mohlman said. Once police arrived, it took them several minutes to coax the man to come out from under the crawl space. Mohlman said the man claimed to have spilled acid on himself. Finally, a man emerged from the crawl space, but it wasn’t who Mohlman expected. A black man emerged, wearing a shirt but no pants or shoes. “At the moment, I sort of forgot about that part and was like, ‘Oh they got the guy. I saw it wrong. They got the guy,’ ” Mohlman said. Molhman said clothes were sprung around outside near the crawl space door, along with two bottles of muriatic acid, also known as hyrdochloric acid; his watering hose; and insulation. Thinking the horrific ordeal was over, Mohlman left his home to get a drink at a nearby bar. He was telling the bartender about what had just happened and showed him the picture he snapped of police detaining the black man. The bartender reportedly told Mohlman that he saw the same man hanging around the bar the night before, but said there was also a white man with him. The bartender went through surveillance video and found that the two were messing with random items on the outside of the bar. Molhman said the men in the video looked like the men he saw under his house, including the white man he thought he had saw at first. He called police again to say he thinks another man might still be underneath. Molhman said police first saw the surveillance video before heading back to his house. When they checked the crawl space again, it was empty. Mohlman said later that night he discovered that the men cut wires controlling the heat, so he had to call for emergency repairs. Mohlman chose not to file charges believing they needed help, possibly medical attention, but not jail. Knoxville Police said they detained the black man and transported him to UT Medical Center for his erratic and unstable behavior. Police are not looking for the white man Molhman believes was also under his home. Molhman said he learned a valuable lesson: Padlock your crawl space doors. His home is about 100 years old and it was just one of many on his street with crawl space doors that are easily accessible on the side of the house. https://www.wate.com/news/local-news/knoxville-man-discovers-strangers-sneaking-into-crawl-space/

THIS WEEK'S DEAR JOHN LETTER!
Dear John,

I'm not sure what to say to my family. I moved half way across the country for my job. I'm working all the time and still can barely afford to live. I moved here about a year ago and I sent a little Christmas present to my family last year. They want me to come home to visit for Christmas, but if I do that I'm not going to be able to get anyone any gifts. Should I stay here and send a gift or go there empty-handed? My family has told me how proud they are that I'm doing so well, so I'm afraid to tell them how tough things have been, but it's just been one unexpected expense after another this year. I can pick up extra hours over the holidays to get caught up, so I'm leaning towards that, but I wonder if you have some advice for me.

Signed- Presents Or Presence?

We will answer THIS Dear John Letter on Thursday's show.... and we can answer YOUR letter NEXT week! A woman enjoying a manicure at a North Carolina nail salon witnessed an unusual sight — workers chopping up deer meat in plain sight. Morgan Taylor posted about her bizarre experience on Facebook last Thursday, including a photo of a salon worker at Diamond Nails in High Point, N.C. kneeling down on the floor while cutting hunks of meat. “Hunting for a new nail salon in High Point, North Carolina? Talk about multitaskers … manicures, pedicures, and amateur deer butchers. Oh deer!” Taylor wrote, along with hashtag “notfawned” and “ohbuckno.” Taylor told WXII-TV that she was at the salon last Wednesday getting her nails done for her sister’s Saturday wedding when the butchering occurred. Taylor said the workers placed the meat atop a tarp on the ground and sliced it without gloves. She said that others in the salon, including customers, seemed unfazed by the sight. The incident was reported by Taylor to the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts. They are investigating whether the nail salon violated any codes. (https://bit.ly/2KVbhA6)

The baby, Argentine cops say, weighed about four kilos. A woman who appeared to be pregnant was actually wearing a handmade baby bump containing about nine pounds of marijuana, according to police who arrested the phony mom-to-be and a male companion on drug smuggling charges. The couple were passengers on a bus traveling hundreds of miles between two Argetine provinces, according to law enforcement officials. During a stop at a police checkpoint, cops discovered that the woman was not with child, but rather 15 packages containing pot. The drug stash was encapsulated inside a false belly constructed out of glue. In announcing the pair’s arrest yesterday, Argentina’s security minister crowed that the “Narco Pregnancy” had been aborted by police. While ambitious, the Argentine duo was not nearly as audacious as the Colombian smuggler who flew into Spain from Bogota in July with half-a-kilo of cocaine under his toupee. A Florida woman was busted for allegedly swiping more than $110,000 worth of luxury watches from men she met at clubs — including one tourist from New York robbed of his $56,000 timepiece. 25-year-old Katelin Wojtowicz was charged last Wednesday with grand theft in connection with three different cases, where she allegedly took dates back to their hotel rooms after a night of partying, waited until they dozed off, and then took off with their watches, cash, and other goods. The blond vixen met the first alleged victim at the Mokai Lounge in Miami Beach in May 2018 and, after a couple drinks, went back to his room at the Fontainebleau Hotel. When the guy woke up, Wojtowicz was gone — and so were his $12,000 watch, $12,000 in cash, $800 Apple iPhone 7, and $600 Gucci belt. She pleaded not guilty and the case is ongoing.
