When it comes to beating stress, dogs are great. Husbands? Not so much. Here’s the breakdown:
• A new study from South Korea found that spending time with dogs can help reduce stress and improve concentration. Researchers determined that activities like playing with and walking dogs increased relaxation, while tasks like grooming boosted concentration. As far as mood, study participants also reported feeling less tired, sad and stressed after interacting with the dogs. Meanwhile…
• A study published in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine looked at data from more than 2,000 elderly couples to see how stress affected the pair’s health over time. Researchers found that women tended to display more negative physiological markers of stress than their male partners, suggesting that women’s health may be more affected by their partner’s stress levels in long-term relationships.

Teenagers
have been scientifically confirmed to smell like…cheese and urine.
Scientists in Germany have classified the chemical compounds that
make us smell differently throughout our lives, starting with the
ones that cause babies to smell like flowers, soap, and violet. But
it’s all downhill from there: Puberty leads to the heightened
presence of certain compounds that cause teenagers to give off scents
of sweat, urine, sandalwood, cheese, goat, and wax (pretty much a
typical locker room). The researchers got these results by sewing
cotton pads into kids’ and teens’ pajama armpits, extracting the
chemical compounds from the pads in the morning, and then having a
trained smeller identify the scents.

A new weight-loss pill made by the manufacturer of Ozempic and Wegovy helps patients shed weight twice as fast as the popular injections. Novo Nordisk says the pill, called Amycretin, works similarly to weight loss injections, mimicking a natural hormone, which slows down the passage of food through the stomach, making people feel full for longer. In addition, it stimulates a hormone called amylin, which also reduces hunger and slows stomach emptying. Early trials showed that people lost 13% of their weight over 3 months — more than twice the amount seen with Ozempic and Wegovy, the company claims.

A mullet-sporting motorcyclist whose license plate reads “WILL RUN” led police on a wild high-speed chase through several Florida cities, reaching a top speed of 145mph (233kph) — for the second time in a week. Aerial footage of the Tuesday incident shows the biker recklessly weaving in and out of highway traffic, blowing through red lights at crowded intersections and taunting the police officers on his tail. The high-speed chase kicked off when patrol officers tried to pull over 19-year-old Ashtin Jarvis after recognizing his unique plate. Cops had tried to pull him over days earlier, but the biker allegedly fled. He is facing multiple charges.
