The
Drug Enforcement Administration seized hundreds of knock-off Disney
figurines as they were being shipped from Mexico to Atlanta.
Investigators
reported finding about 500 pounds of meth, worth $2 million, inside
the figurines shaped like popular cartoon characters near Gwinnett
County, Georgia. The shipment consisted of hundreds of ceramic-like
Disney figurines mixed in with wax figures that were filled with
meth. The real figurines had characters like Winnie the Pooh, Donald
Duck and Pluto. The well-known characters were allegedly used as a
"cover load" to try to hide the illegal figurines. Multiple
law enforcement agencies worked with the DEA and Homeland Security to
pull off what officials are calling one of the biggest drug busts in
Gwinnett County history.

A
Louisiana man chaperoning a group of spring breakers was arrested for
allegedly hosting a house party where high school students were
drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. 57-year-old John Scallan
reportedly hosted a party that led to a noise complaint. A deputy
responding to the complaint said he could hear loud music and yelling
as he approached the home. He spotted a large group of people under
21 playing games involving alcohol and noticed marijuana in plain
view. Liquor bottles and beer cans were scattered around the
backyard. The Sheriff’s Office said Scallan allegedly admitted he
knew some of the partiers were in high school and were drinking and
smoking marijuana. (https://goo.gl/D8fbSc)

willingly sign up for, but you have to wait to see if you're one of

A
young man in Hollywood, California climbed a tall construction crane
some 200 feet above Hollywood Boulevard and stayed up there for hours
before safely coming down Sunday night. The spectacle
attracted a mass of spectators on the ground watching as police
officers and firefighters worked to try to convince the man to come
down on his own. The man was not wearing shoes or a shirt and he was
draped in an American flag. He was spotted climbing and moving around
on cables above the crane and slowly descending, then stopping on a
platform for more than an hour as he shouted and gestured at the
ground and waved the flag. An urban search and rescue team joined
firefighters and police officers who were trying to convince the man
to come down. After about three hours, police said they had the man
safely in custody on the ground. He was being treated by paramedics.

School lets parking violators pay off fines with food for charity When University of Florida's president said on April Fool's Day that people cited for parking violations on campus over the past year could get amnesty by donating food, many thought it was a prank. But on Friday, nearly 2,000 people learned it wasn't. UF President W. Kent Fuchs said on Twitter that nearly 2,000 citations had been exchanged for 9,455 food donations. The food - peanut butter, canned peaches and other canned items - will fill the shelves of the school's Field and Fork Pantry. LINK TO STORY
