Pins weren't the only thing knocked down at Nottoway, Virginia Bowling Alley on Sunday when a driver crashed her car through the building, knocking down a wall and coming to a stop between bowling lanes. Last Sunday, shortly before 3:00 a.m., Virginia State Police responded to a single vehicle crash into a building at the Nottoway Bowling Alley. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Ford Taurus driven by 20-year-old Rhiannon M. Heller was reversing from a parking spot and then put her car in drive striking a parked car. She then hit the accelerator and veered through the grass before driving through the building. Heller was arrested and charged with underage possession by consumption and reckless driving. Additional charges may be pending per consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney as the crash remains under investigation. (https://goo.gl/KU1MeC)

-A thing that is hoped or wished for but in fact is illusory or impossible to achieve.

WEIRD NEWS:

An Arizona man feigning to suffer from Down Syndrome tricked a series of female caregivers into bathing him and changing his diaper, according to investigators who have filed felony sex abuse and fraud charges against the creepy scamster. As alleged in court documents, the scheme by 30-year-old Paul Menchaca began in May when he advertised on CareLinx, a “nationwide professional caregiver marketplace” that connects clients with home care workers. In response to the ad, a caregiver corresponded solely via text with a woman named Amy, who claimed to be Menchaca’s mother. Amy told the caregiver that her son had Down syndrome and “required diaper changes and assistance with bathing.” Police allege that “Amy,” who arranged for payments and provided care instructions, was actually Menchaca himself. Menchaca was named Tuesday in a four-count felony complaint. He was freed from custody after posting $15,000 bond and has been ordered to have no contact with the three caregivers.

MOMENT OF DUH:
A San Clemente, California woman with a history of alleged bizarre scams, including a faked pregnancy, is suspected of creating a nonexistent husband to bilk good Samaritans out of at least $11,000 in donations she claimed would help firefighters during the recent Holy Fire. Orange County sheriff's Lt. Mike Peters said that 28-year-old Ashley Bemis collected cash and hundreds of items -- such as food, clothing, and blankets -- in the scheme uncovered after victims began complaining on Facebook. “The scam involved the elaborate support of social media postings to add credibility to the fictitious information,” he said. Adding that, “It was well-planned.” As of right now there is no indication that she has been arrested yet. (https://goo.gl/yQ4m4M)
