A woman was busted in Massachusetts for drunk driving after cops found her driving with a gas pump nozzle attached to her Range Rover. Police in Wilmington posted on Facebook Tuesday, stating “In addition to her inability to stay in her own traffic lane, there was something else about her vehicle that caught other motorists’ attention.” Authorities in Middlesex County identified the woman as 24-year-old Alicia Esquilin of Hudson, New Hampshire. She was arraigned Monday on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operations of a motor vehicle, and an open container violation. Police told Boston.com that the gas nozzle was later returned to its “rightful owner,” an AL Prime Energy gas station in Woburn — about six miles away. Esquilin, who could not be reached for comment, is expected back in court on Oct. 16th.

Ravens can learn to speak better than parrots. Parrots have the reputation as the most talkative birds in the animal kingdom, but ravens could hold their own in a debate any day. In captivity, the animals can be trained to mimic human speech, saying basic words like “hello” and “hi” and even coughing like a person. Note: It’s not clear if they can be taught to say “nevermore.”

A 22-year-old has been arrested in an alleged scam of the largest internet retailer that totaled nearly $370,000 by sending return packages filled with dirt. James Gilbert Kwarteng, of Palma de Mallorca, Spain, allegedly swindled Amazon by filling up the ordered items’ boxes with dirt and registering with the exact weight of the product. He would then receive a refund from Amazon and sell the original item. The return packages would end up sitting around in Amazon’s warehouses where they aren’t checked often. The scam wasn’t discovered until through a random search where someone opened a box and discovered it was full of dirt. Amazon’s return policy states items shipped from the website, including Amazon Warehouse, can be returned within thirty days of receipt. The report states the success of the alleged scam by Kwarteng, who has been released on bail, enabled him to create his own company.

The courtroom is a hall of justice where crimes are paid for — not committed. That is, unless you’re the bold Michigan man who allegedly stole a cellphone while sitting in court on unrelated charges. The Eastpointe man was reportedly awaiting sentencing in Macomb Circuit Court in Mount Clemens in connection with a 2017 traffic violation. That's when he saw an opportunity too good to pass up: an unattended phone sitting on a bench. Courtroom video footage shows the man sit down beside his prize, inconspicuously place his hat over it and maneuver the phone into his pocket unnoticed. Prosecutor Eric Smith stated, “The audacity of this defendant is alarming. He is already in court, awaiting sentencing on multiple unrelated charges, and yet he is captured on video breaking the law once again.” The owner of the phone noticed it missing and asked for assistance from the courtroom deputy, who reviewed video footage to find the culprit. The man is being charged with larceny in a building, a four-year felony. (https://bit.ly/2T6sIR2)
