A Florida Man dialed 9-1-1 to report that he “had narcotics on his person,” according to police who say that the suspect told them he “wanted to go to jail.” After 21-year-old Joshua Simmons called police late Sunday night, officers contacted him near a park in St. Petersburg. Simmons reportedly “stated he had marijuana in his front pocket and produced it to officers on scene.” Simmons was then taken into custody, which noted that the defendant “spontaneously stated he was transient and wanted to go to jail.” Cops reported that the seized marijuana weighed about one gram. Charged with pot possession, a misdemeanor, Simmons is being held in the county jail in lieu of $150 bond. Simmons’s rap sheet includes three convictions for trespassing.

A Louisiana woman was charged with using Nerf guns to attack her husband, who she accuses of cheating. The husband told cops that his wife arrived at their West Monroe home Monday and started a fight. She suspected her husband of twelve years to be cheating on her. Then she suddenly grabbed two Nerf guns and began hitting her husband. He ran out of the house and she ran down the road after him. The woman was still holding the Nerf guns when an Ouachita Parish sheriff’s deputy arrived at the home. She admitted to hitting her husband because of his “alleged infidelity.” The deputy reported finding minor cuts and scrapes on the husband’s left arm and face. The couple’s children were in the house during the attack. 40-year-old Anh Thi Pham was charged with domestic abuse and child endangerment. (

A flight was delayed for an hour and a woman detained by police after she opened the emergency exit for “a breath of fresh air” before the flight took off in central China's Hubei province. The incident happened on a Xiamen Air flight from Wuhan to Lanzhou, which was scheduled to take off at 3.45pm on Sept 23rd. Cabin crew had briefed the woman, who appeared to be in her 50s, about the rules when sitting next to the emergency exit and reminded her not to touch the button that opened the emergency exit. However, the woman said she needed some fresh air and touched the button to open the exit when the stewardess turned around to help others. The woman was taken away and the flight was delayed for an hour. Opening the emergency exit can be deemed to be disturbing public order in an aircraft, which is punishable by police detention and a fine. (
