well-known Sicilian chef was found with the wrong type of pot
alongside his pans — but insisted he was just “researching new
flavors” for his contemporary cuisine. Carmelo Chiaramonte was
busted with a pair of six-foot marijuana plants and just over a pound
of Indian hemp plant heads during a raid on his home near Catania in
eastern Sicily. Officers also found cannabis-infused wine, coffee,
olives — and even tuna. He was arrested on suspicion of drug
dealing and released pending trial. The 50-year-old chef denied
dealing drugs — telling police he turned to the Devil’s Lettuce
for fresh ideas, because he is a pioneering “agro-food consultant
for third-millennium cuisine.” According to the reports,
Chiaramonte found fame through TV food shows in Italy and once told a
newspaper reporter that “a cook is a drug addict and an
alchemist.”

A would-be thief was caught in a hilarious state of wide-eyed shock when he realized he was being filmed in a car in Oregon. The car’s owner said that she checked the notifications on her inward-facing dashcam after a neighbor in Beaverton told her that her car had been broken into. Her shock was nothing compared to the would-be thief’s, it seems — with her footage showing him staring in dazzled disbelief when a flash went off on her motion-activated dashcam. “It was the funniest face I have ever seen,” the woman, who asked not to be identified, told the station. She said her “Owlcam” starts recording without light, with the flash going on after ten seconds, alerting the prowler to the camera. bystander's Instagram videos show a woman who apparently climbed into
the lion's exhibit at the Bronx Zoo and taunted the male animal as it
looked on. The zoo said it received a report of the incident
Saturday, and thankfully, there were no injuries. The zoo said it has
a “zero-tolerance policy” for this type of behavior. They said in
a statement, “This action was a serious violation and unlawful
trespass that could have resulted in serious injury or death.
Barriers and rules are in place to keep both visitors, staff, and
animals safe.” The woman's identity is currently unknown. The NYPD
is in contact with the Bronx Zoo, and the zoo is in the process of
filing a criminal trespass report. The park told police that there is
a moat with an approximately 14-foot drop between where the woman was
