An
Eagle River, Alaska Man stole a fire truck from the King Salmon Fire
Station on Saturday night and drove fifteen miles with lights
flashing to a bar where he was arrested. The Bristol Bay Borough
Police Department said in an online statement 22-year-old Dawson Cody
Porter used a piece of lumber to break a window of the fire station
and made his way inside the building around 9:00 p.m. Once inside,
Porter started a fire truck and drove it through the station’s
closed bay doors. Police Chief John Rhyshek said no one was in the
building when Porter broke in. Porter is being held at the Bristol

An ice cream shop in Berea, Ohio, is asking customers to lay off employees after a few guests have yelled at them for wearing masks. Mootown Creamery said guests have cussed at the teenage employees and have made a few of them cry. The shop said in a Facebook post: “Our lives are flipped upside down. Businesses are closing. Some of us are still out of work. We are stressed out, worried, and frustrated. However that is no excuse to take out your frustrations on teenage kids serving ice cream.”

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com
The city of Philadelphia is asking people to refrain from swimming in dumpsters after a block party rented trash bin and turned it into a makeshift swimming pool over the weekend. Online news site Billy Penn first reported that a group of people rented a dumpster, filled it with water from a fire hydrant, and created their own pool. Justyn Myers, who is part of a group that organizes the block party every year, said they decided to turn the dumpster into a pool while brainstorming party ideas. Myers said he power washed the trash bin and they put plywood and pool noodles in the bottom of the bin and covered it with tarps. Unfortunately, the city was not amused. The city “will not issue permits for block party dumpster pools,” Karen Guss, communications director for the Department of Licenses and Inspections, said in a statement. Myers said they apologized to the city. (https://bit.ly/3et1AWg)

An
Ohio couple ordered a pizza and was horrified to open the box to find
its pepperoni arranged as a swastika. Jason Laska said he had picked
up the pie Saturday night from a Little Caesars shop in Brook Park
and brought it home. “My wife turned and asked me ‘Babe, did you
order this, did they make it for you?’ And I turned around and
looked at it and I could see the shock on her face and then my jaw
just dropped,” Laska told the outlet. The couple called the pizza
joint to complain. “The manager said the employees told him that it
was supposed to be an internal joke that they were playing on each
other and the other employee, and the pizza was never intended to go
out,” Laska said. The manager told them that employees involved
were let go, but the couple said they never plan to return. “We are
the type of people that support the diversity in our country, we
embrace and love it. We just want to see this hate stop,” Laska’s
wife said. (https://bit.ly/31qilhb)
