A recent survey of culinary aficionados sought to determine the best cookie available to buy in stores. The cookie lovers ranked them on features including texture, smell, size and taste (obviously). The eventual winner? Good old Oreos. The “cookie monsters” concluded: “No matter how you eat them, they’re always good. They’re the only cookie in the world that’ll satisfy you when they’re fresh, stale, or frozen. It’s a holy trinity. These are God’s cookies.”

About one-third of murders committed in the United States go unsolved. This has been a more recent development — 50 years ago, the "clearance rate," referring to the percentage of murders that ended in an arrest, was over 90%. So, what happened? According to the FBI, the rate has lowered because standards for arrest are higher, DNA technology is more precise, and there has been an increase in a "no snitch" culture, leading to fewer arrests.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has reportedly signed a deal to write a new “motivational” book. The 75-year-old action star previously opened up about his years in the spotlight in the 2012 memoir “Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story” and and now has signed with Penguin Press to put pen to paper again — with the help of a co-writer. As well as lifting the lid on his life in Hollywood and in politics as the Governor of California, Schwarzenegger has also written a series of books about bodybuilding.

James Bond star Rami Malek is lining up a return to TV to play movie legend Buster Keaton. The actor, who first broke out with his Emmy-winning TV role on “Mr. Robot”, is set to portray the vaudeville-turned-silent comedy flim star as part of a limited series. While a streamer or network is yet to be confirmed, “The Batman’s” Matt Reeves is set to direct and executive produce the series alongside Malek.

The Force is strong with Mando … and Grogu. The new trailer for the third season of Disney’s hit show “The Mandalorian” broke several records within the first 24 hours of dropping during the NFL wild-card playoff game on January 16. Mandalorian debuted with a whopping 83.5 million views, vastly outstripping the franchise’s “Obi-Wan Kenobi” which debuted on May 4th — or “Star Wars Day” — and attracted nearly 58 million viewers. Season 3 is set to drop March 1 on Disney+. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/5c9yvhxc

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com

A young lady in Britain fell in love with a cat named Moose last year and decided to give her a furrever home. But when 23-year-old Abigail Laker took Moose in for spaying, the vet noted something strange. He asked if the cat always breathed so fast, as it “could be something serious.” Cats usually breathe at a rate of 15-30 breaths per minute. Laker says she began observing Moose, and “was having to rush her to the vets when it would be over 100 a minute.” Here’s the good news: After spending US$8,700 on tests, and after a stressful period of several months, the results came in. In Abigail’s words: “A specialist vet ended up diagnosing Moose, he basically told me that Moose is just a bit weird.”

EXPENSIVE THINGS THAT PAY FOR THEMSELVES IN THE LONG RUN:

An AskReddit user asked: “What expensive purchase have you made that has paid for itself many times over because you saved money in the long run?” Here are some of the answers…

A laser printer: “They’re expensive up front, but they will save you lots of money by no longer needing cartridges. Also is less wasteful”.

Hair cutting scissors: “When my wife and I started dating, she wanted to learn to cut hair and wanted a pair of scissors that cost $25, which was a lot for us then. She offered that if I bought her the scissors, she’d cut my hair for free as long as we were together. After 25 years, she decided she had repaid me…still not a bad deal.”

A houseboat: “I bought a 27′ sailboat to live on because rent here is outrageous. Cost $4,500, and moorage at a marina is about $170/month. Rent for a studio apartment here is $900-$1300; every month I save $600-$1,100, so the boat paid for itself in 4-9 months.”

A bidet: “Not super expensive, but saves on toilet paper. I’ve used it for about a year and I love it.”
