You’d think that companies would value their only workers who have face-to-face contact with their customers – but apparently, that’s not the case. A new survey found that 4 in 5 delivery drivers are experiencing burnout — and fear they’ll lose their jobs if they don’t make all their drop-offs on time. What’s more, 45% claim their employers don’t give them all their tips. Another 54% claim their company doesn’t pay them overtime wages when they’re forced to deliver packages after their normal hours.

After the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, newspapers reported that there were over 118,000 people who claimed they were supposed to be on the ship but missed it for various reasons. Some of those people were pretty famous faces for the time period. Milton Hershey had allegedly sent a deposit for a stateroom aboard the ship in 1911, but business concerns surrounding his growing chocolate empire kept him home. Financier J.P. Morgan also reportedly had a ticket for the Titanic's maiden voyage but was supposedly enjoying his vacation so much that he chose to extend it instead of boarding the ship.

Get ready for the return of Frasier Crane’s ex ‘Lilith Sternin’. Bebe Neuwirth is set to reprise her role in Paramount+’s upcoming “Frasier” revival series and will guest star in an episode revolving around son Freddy’s birthday party. The episode’s official description says: “When they reunite, Lilith, in classic form, is far from pleased about having to share Freddy. What begins as a fun party with friends and family inevitably becomes a Lilith and Frasier showdown for the ages.” The Frasier revival, which began production last month, follows Kelsey Grammer’s character as he moves to a new city to face new challenges.

USA Network is bringing back “Barmageddon” for a second season. This comes after the celebrity game show hosted by Nikki Bella and exec produced by Blake Shelton and Carson Daly became the cable network’s best series premiere in nearly 3 years. The show, filmed at Shelton’s Ole Red bar in Nashville, sees celebs playing games such as Air Cannon Cornhole, Keg Curling and Drunken Axe Hole. Season 1 featured Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow, Trace Adkins, Kane Brown, Lil Rel Howrey and Malin Ackerman, with Shelton and Daly heckling from the sides.

Researchers say men are 3 times more likely to be the first to say “I love you” than women are.

Good news if you’re one of those people who regularly spends time in “Facebook jail”. In the future, you might get off with just a warning. Facebook says it will now warn users when they break rules, instead of simply taking away their posting privileges and tossing them in Facebook jail. For most violations, the first strike will result in a warning. If the company removes additional posts, users will lose access to some features. Facebook jail sentences will typically begin after the 6th strike. The old rules will still apply to more serious violations, (terrorism, child exploitation), and those offenders will face immediate restrictions, according to a spokesperson. The company says the changes are in response to feedback from users, who complained that the penalty system needed to be fairer. Some users say they’ve been unfairly deprived of access to their accounts, and, in some cases, their businesses, for days or weeks at a time.

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com

You pay for a monthly subscription for streaming services, pet food and even diapers. So why not restaurants? Many large chains like Panera and P.F. Chang’s and even local neighborhood diners are experimenting with the subscription model as a way to ensure steady business. Some are offering unlimited drinks or free delivery for a monthly fee, while others promise free appetizers with every visit. And why not? Stats show the average American consumer already pays for 6.7 subscriptions, up from 4.2 in 2019. One of the better-known restaurant subscriptions is offered by Taco Bell, whose $10 Taco Lover’s Pass, let subscribers get a taco every day for a month. It was introduced in January 2022 and again in October; and the chain is currently looking at ways to make it more valuable to consumers, such as offering faster service, or access to unique menu items.

STUFF CASINOS DON’T WANT YOU TO KNOW:

Visual and sounds effects affect your desire to gamble: You know how when you walk into a casino all you hear is the constant ringing of bells and lights flashing all over the place? That’s to give you the false impression that everyone must be hitting the jackpot!

They avoid the use of windows and doors to trick your perception of time: They don’t want clocks to remind you that you’ve been there for hours. And windows are distraction, and distractions waste casinos’ valuable revenue.

Slots are placed strategically: Heavy traffic areas are ideal places for premium slots. These are often near the entrance or places that connect to other parts of the casino. Slots you see farther in the back are ones that get fewer wagers, but may give you the best odds to win.

Slots don’t get hot or cold: All slot machines use an algorithm to come up with the results or symbols landing on the reels for each spin. Slots being on a winning or losing streak is perhaps the most believed misconception or legend.
