It turns out there is one sleeping position that will not only provide you with better-quality rest, it’s actually also better for your overall health. According to the experts at The Sleep Foundation, sleeping on your side has multiple benefits, including relieving stress on your spine (less back pain). It can also reduce heartburn and snoring, and allow pregnant women to sleep more comfortably. Footnote: If you struggle with back pain, you should be sleeping on your side with a pillow or blanket between your knees. And one more thing: Yes, it is best to lie on your side but WHICH side? According to Dr Karan Raj, the left side is better. In a TikTok video, the doctor says that sleeping on the left side, especially if you experience acid reflux or heartburn, is the better choice.

Tyler Perry’s attempt at acquiring BET has officially come to an end. His bid reportedly came short of Paramount’s asking price of $3 billion. According to sources, the playwright seemed the perfect choice, but he only bid $2 billion. Earlier this summer, the sale of BET, which includes VH1, BET, and the streaming service BET+, was commenced. Although the auction solicited bids from several interested parties, they all fell short of the asking price. Perry currently owns a 25% stake in BET’s streaming service.

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by

A Japanese company has introduced new style of sleeping pod that lets you grab a power nap . . . while standing up. The Giraffenap is being marketed as a way to get a mid-day refresher, to improve concentration and work efficiency. As you may be aware, Japan is known as a hard-working country. In order to withstand grueling schedules and stress, some Japanese workers turn to short power naps. But why standing up? One of the main reasons Gireaffenap pods have a vertical orientation is space – it’s much easier to have them installed in small cafés and restaurants, as they take up very little room. In addition, the stand-up position supposedly makes it easier for the person using the pod to wake up from their power nap. Each Gireaffenap pod features a wake alarm, as well as support points for various parts of the body (head, buttocks, calves, and feet), to ensure that the sleepy-head maintains their upright position when napping. Giraffenap is currently being implemented in coffee shops and cafés. LINK:

A Reddit user asked: “To you redditors aged 50+, what’s something you genuinely believe young people haven’t realized yet, but could enrich their lives or positively impact their outlook on life?” Here are some of the answers…

✓ “You might not want kids or be able to have kids, and that’s okay. Never let anyone tell you you’re making a mistake or will have regrets if you choose not to have a baby.”

✓ “Stop thinking that life is about being the most productive person you can be. Find interesting hobbies that make you feel good and are good for you. Your soul deserves to experience that.”

✓ “Read for pleasure every single day.”

✓ “Every skill takes determination and practice to master. I’ve seen young friends…try something and give up because they weren’t very good at it…with that mentality, you’ll never be great at anything.”

✓ “Travel while you’re young. I am so glad I did this. Travel opened my eyes to so many things that I carry with me today.”

✓ “Not everything that you disagree with deserves an argument. Pick your battles and let trivial things slide.”

✓ “When you’re an adult, you stop worrying about what everyone else thinks of you. And when you’re old, you finally realize that nobody else was thinking about you all along.”
