While there’s no denying that many have found love online, a new study has found that married couples who met using dating apps, like Tinder, Bumble, Grindr and Hinge, are less satisfied with their marriages than wedded partners who met in-person. Researchers at Arizona State University surveyed 923 married adults in the US, and found participants who met in online were not only less satisfied in their relationships, they also reported less stability. Possible reasons surmised by researchers included the fact that digital daters tend have their unions marginalized by some friends and family, and they tend to be younger, which can have a negative affect on relationships.

Research from the University of Texas say that, in general, cat lovers are smarter than dog lovers. Their research echoes the same sentiment shared by other experts: that cat lovers show more mental prowess than dog lovers. The Texas team characterized ‘the canine person’ as loyal, direct, kind, faithful, utilitarian, helpful, and a team player…while ‘the feline person’ was typically found to be graceful, subtle, independent, intelligent, thoughtful, and mysterious.” It noted that cat lovers are especially prone to neuroticism as well.

Royal biographer Gyles Brandreth said “The Crown” is “riddled with mistakes” and accuses the show of turning the royals “into a soap opera”. As Netflix’s hit historical drama prepares for its 6th and final season, the royal biographer appeared at Henley Literary Festival to promote the reissue of his 2022 biography “Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait”. There, he warned the audience against the many “inaccuracies” depicted in the series. According to Brandreth, who was well acquainted with the late monarch and Prince Philip, “The Crown is as truthful about the present royal family as Shakespeare’s play Richard III is about Richard III… but it’s not quite as well written.”

Saturday Night Live” will return with a lot of recognizable faces plus one new one. The entire cast from the end of Season 48 are returning for Season 49 and the Lorne Michaels-created show has added fresh face Chloe Troast. This comes as the show has officially set its return for October 14. Pete Davidson, who was set for a big return to his old stomping ground before the Season 48 was cut short due to the writers strike, will kick off the new season with rising rapper Ice Spice as musical guest. The following week will see Bad Bunny pull double-duty as host and musical guest.

Kevin Spacey was rushed to a hospital in Uzbekistan after experiencing numbness in one of his arms and fearing a heart attack. The “American Beauty” star underwent an MRI after the health scare, which occurred during the Tashkent International Film Festival, but doctors gave him the all-clear. Spacey returned to the festival and appeared on stage that night, telling the crowd his health was “normal” and the experience “made me really take a moment and think about how fragile life is — for all of us.”

Men who smoke weed have lower sperm counts, says a report.

Now that electric-powered cars are becoming commonplace, get set to start seeing transport trucks – without the traditional plume of smoke exhaust belching from a smokestack. Recent developments in battery-power technology have resulted in some battery-electric big rigs doubling their range and charging speed. The non-profit North American Council for Freight Efficiency conducted real-world tests on 21 battery-electric big rigs from, among others, Ford, Daimler, Tesla, Volvo, and General Motors. They found that innovation has been lighting-fast recently, and determined that “the future of battery electric commercial trucks is bright”. For those who live in urban areas, the idea of silent, emission-free freight trucks passing through town is a sweet concept. As you know, a rig building up speed is extremely smog-filled, slow, and noisy. Not only that, but electric trucks are able to use regenerative braking – a system that recharges the battery pack by utilizing the braking force of the heavy vehicle, meaning some can recover a quarter of its charge in the course of braking during a 13-hour haul day.

Police in Slovakia say a speed camera there picked up a very strange image. In the quiet village of Sterusy, officers were startled to see the image of a family dog behind the wheel of a speeding car, as picked up by the road’s camera footage. After posting the image in a funny Facebook post, the owner of the car was quickly found. The problem? The driver claimed that his brown hunting dog happened to leap across the seat into his lap when the he was driving along the road. The footage proved that to be a…tall tail. He was ultimately fined for the offense. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/vpy9sx9v
