Jordan Michelman and Zachary Carlsen, authors of “But First, Coffee,” explain that while the mug you drink out of doesn’t have a major impact on taste, there is still a subtle change in perception. Paramount has announced a release date for its remake of “The Naked Gun” starring Liam Neeson. Set for July, 2025, the still untitled “Naked Gun” re-do sees Akiva Schaffer direct and executive produce. It’s unknown how closely this new iteration will follow the original. The “Naked Gun” franchise, which spawned 3 films between 1988-94, followed ‘Frank Drebin’ (played by Leslie Nielsen) and was a send-up of popular crime dramas.

“Dune: Part Two” rode those massive sandworms all the way to the top of box office charts. Director Denis Villeneuve‘s big-budget sequel collected a projected $81.5 million in its domestic debut and delivered a mighty, needed jolt for struggling movie theaters. It’s the biggest opening weekend of the year and the largest since last October’s Taylor Swift concert film “The Eras Tour”, which collected $93 million in its debut. That’s well above the $41 million opening weekend of the first “Dune,” which debuted in October 2021 amidst COVID-19 concerns.
