Researchers from the University of Waterloo have some bad news for both short and tall motorcycle riders: Your bike doesn’t fit. Using computer software, the team found that it is very difficult for someone who isn’t “average” height to get comfortable on a motorcycle. As a result, tall riders must constantly fix their position and posture on the bike, and flex their joints from discomfort. Shorter riders have even more trouble because there are fewer ways for them to adjust the seat, the handlebars, and foot pegs.

Ellen DeGeneres will return to Netflix to host a new comedy special, which she says will be her last. The program, expected later this year, will touch on the controversial allegations brought against the talk show host, accusing her of fostering a toxic workplace environment on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” In a statement announcing the Netflix special, Ellen said: “To answer the questions everyone is asking me — Yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes, this is my last special. Yes, Portia [de Rossi] really is that pretty in real life.”

This Christmas Day, Netflix will be the only place you can watch 2 NFL games. It’s part of a 3-season deal between Netflix and the NFL, which will stream at least one holiday game each year through 2026. It’s also a move that continues Netflix’s push into live sports. The league said in a statement: “The NFL on Christmas has become a tradition and to partner with Netflix, a service whose biggest day of the year is typically this holiday, is the perfect combination to grow this event globally for NFL fans.”

Prime Video has finally given us a first look at “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2. It shows clips of Charlie Vickers’ ‘Halbrand’ – who was revealed to actually be ‘Sauron’ at the end of Season 1 – as a voice says: “An evil, ancient and powerful, has returned”. The teaser cuts quick between scenes of Sauron moving through a courtyard while distressed people flee in all directions behind him, a woman staring down a sea monster and a shot of ‘NĂºmenor’. And as bits of ceiling collapse in Moria, a man says: “Every soul in Middle-earth is in peril”. The Rings of Power season premiere date is Aug. 29. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/4yf9kdyu

The head of the World Bank says there’s a global recession coming.

If you have plans to ask your special someone to marry you during a Taylor Swift concert this summer, it would probably be a good idea to think again. Relationship experts are cautioning against the current trend of proposing at the pop star’s “Eras Tour” while she sings the song ‘Love Story’. Proposal videos have been trending on TikTok, with one reaching 9.6 million views. Why is it a bad idea? Relationship coach Kate Mansfield believes that couples should make sure their reason for proposing has nothing to do with social media. While she agrees that an Eras Tour proposal could be “really romantic”, she urges couples to remember that “Using trends to influence such a life-changing decision is a bad idea. The trend will inevitably end, and then you’re stuck with a spouse.” Tammy Nelson, an author and podcast host, said couples should be sure that a proposal is “a positive one and not just a bid for Taylor Swift’s attention.” And sometimes, Swift has indeed noticed. When Alyssa Hildebrand got engaged to her partner at the “Reputation” tour in 2018, Swift commented on her Instagram video, writing in all-caps with 10 exclamation points: “CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

A Canadian city’s attempt to break the Guinness record for the largest gathering of people dressed as dinosaurs was disqualified — due to the unexpectedly high turnout. Travel Drumheller, the tourism organization for the Town of Drumheller, Alberta, said on Facebook that the record attempt in the city’s downtown attracted more than 3,000 people in dino-dress, but officials “could not obtain an exact measurement” of participants. A Guinness World Records adjudicator was present, and was able to record 3,000 people. However, a spokesperson said that photos and videos indicate there may have been “close to double” that many people, but an accurate count could not be obtained because officials were unprepared for such a massive turnout. So, the record set in Los Angeles in 2019 still stands. How many? 252 people.
