An Illinois drug dealer who complained to police that “selling methamphetamine is hard work” has been sentenced to three years in state prison following her guilty plea to a pair of felony narcotics charges. 33-year-old Lindsey Lowery was sentenced last month for peddling meth from a home in Swansea, a village about ten miles east of St. Louis. At the time of Lowery’s arrest last August, she was living in the residence in return for meth provided to the homeowner. In a search warrant affidavit, police noted that when they arrested Lowery, she commented on the difficulty of peddling dope. “Lowery stated selling methamphetamine is hard work,” an investigator wrote. Following her June 3rd sentencing, Lowery was admitted to the Logan Correctional Center, a women’s prison located about thirty miles north of Springfield. The state facility houses about 1650 inmates. (https://bit.ly/2NwwdBd)

Notre Dame’s 180,000 rooftop bees survived the 2019 fire. When a massive fire destroyed a large part of Paris’ Notre-Dame cathedral in April 2019, almost 200,000 bees that were set up with homes on the roof survived the blaze. The hives were built in 2013 as a part of a city-wide initiative to increase the bee population. “Right after the fire I looked at the drone pictures and saw the hives weren’t burnt but there was no way of knowing if the bees had survived,” Nicolas Geant, Notre Dame’s resident beekeeper, told CNN. “Now I know there’s activity; it’s a huge relief!”

Needing a ride to her boyfriend’s house, a Florida Girl ordered pizzas to a neighbor’s house and then popped out of some nearby bushes and stole the car driven by a Papa John’s deliveryman. As detailed in a police report, 14-year-old Josie Bigelow placed the phony food order to lure the victim to a street near her home in Lehigh Acres, a Fort Myers suburb. As the driver walked to the front door of a residence with pizza in hand, Bigelow emerged from some nearby woods and hopped into the 49-year-old deliveryman’s unlocked 2006 Ford Taurus. Bigelow was subsequently arrested about six miles from the heist scene, where investigators say she sought to ditch the hot wheels in a stranger’s driveway. Before getting collared, the girl twice escaped from a pursuing sheriff’s deputy. (https://bit.ly/2DMZBMI)

A Florida man is in jail after he attacked McDonald's employees over missing straws. Police arrested 40-year-old Daniel Taylor on two charges of battery. Taylor reportedly got upset because there were no straws in the lobby, and the situation escalated to him reaching across the cash register to grab an employee by her shirt. A customer caught the exchange on video. The employee, Yasmine James, punched Taylor multiple times after he grabbed her. Despite his violence, video shows the store manager continuing to help Taylor. Local ordinances prevent restaurants from having straws out in the lobby, but they are available by request. Taylor was later escorted out. On his way out, he allegedly kicked another employee — who was holding the door open — in the stomach. Police came to the restaurant after Taylor left, and arrested him later.
