Show Notes for Saturday August 24 & Sunday August 25, 2019

We talk with best friends and ghost hunters – Dalen Spratt, Juwan Mass and Marcus Harvey. They seamlessly blend comedy and paranormal investigating in the new Travel Channel series, “Ghost Brothers: Haunted Houseguests.” After receiving a plethora of pleas from families experiencing paranormal activity in their homes, the Ghost Brothers move in, embedding themselves with the family for the weekend. Their goal? Validate or disprove their paranormal claims and bring peace to the inhabitants, both living and departed.

This new series takes the Ghost Brothers across the country to investigate eight family homes with unexplained paranormal activity. In Tennessee, they help a family move safely back into house that they couldn’t sell (and they couldn’t afford to walk away from). In Washington, they check out an infamous family manor plagued by ghosts and rumors of an evil doctor and his victims, and in New Hampshire, they explore a historic home and inn that may be harboring the spirits of people fleeing slavery on the Underground Railroad.

Paranormal Investigators Dalen Spratt, Juwan Mass and Marcus Harvey seamlessly blend, heart, humor and hair-raising paranormal discoveries in this breakout series. The three friends initially bonded over the paranormal phenomenon they each experienced as children, and now have a shared mission to help families who are plagued by the paranormal too.

“Ghost Brothers: Haunted Houseguests” premiered Friday, August 16 at 9pm on Travel Channel.

Coastlines Are Disproportionately Crowded. The coasts are attractive options to live on for many reasons, from the access they offered as ports going back centuries to the great views they offer today. But according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, while coastlines cover just 20 percent of the United States’ land area (excluding Alaska), “coastal zones” are home to more than half of the country’s population.

According to a police report from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Justin Kinnison in a theft of a fishing reel. Surveillance video provided to authorities shows the 43-year-old walking into Armed Anglers store in Holiday, and place something into his front pocket. Kinnison is then seen passing the register with a “large bulge” in his pants, and exit the business. An employee later found a rod that the defendant was looking at in the video, but it was missing a reel. The complaint says Kinnison later admitted to authorities that he took the device valued at $148. The 43-year-old outdoorsman explained that when he realized that the rod he had recently purchased was for a righty, he went back to pinch one for a lefty. Police charge that a New Jersey woman set fire to a man’s home after accepting a booty call invitation only to discover when she arrived that he had fallen asleep. According to cops, 29-year-old Taija Russell torched the victim’s home around 4:00 a.m. on August 4th. Investigators say that when Russell arrived at the residence, the snoozing man did not hear her at the front door. He also did not respond to series of text messages sent by Russell. Unable to contact the man, Russell went to a nearby gas station, where she purchased lighter fluid, matches, and a cigarette lighter. She then returned to the property and allegedly set a fire outside the door. Cops reported that the victim, who escaped the flames through a window, was transported to a local hospital “suffering from burns and smoke inhalation,” Russell was arrested this week on several felony charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated arson, and aggravated assault.
