An Alabama woman concerned that her methamphetamine may have been tainted with another drug asked police to test her stash, a service request that resulted in her arrest for possession of a controlled substance. Cops report that 48-year-old Jennifer Colyne Hall called police dispatch last Wednesday seeking assistance. When Limestone County Sheriff's Office deputies subsequently arrived at Hall’s residence in Toney, a Huntsville suburb, she presented them with a clear plastic bag she had removed from a baby wipes container. “I want this dope tested,” declared Hall, who added that she was concerned that her speed was somehow tainted. Cops reported that the baggie proffered by Hall contained meth. As a result, Hall was arrested on a felony narcotics possession charge and booked into the county jail. She is being held in lieu of $2,500 bail.

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com
A North Carolina mother sold her baby daughter for a 1992 Plymouth Laser, according to police and felony indictments filed against her and two codefendants. 45-year-old Alice Todd is accused of swapping her child last year for a vehicle provided by 47-year-old Tina Chavis and her husband 53-year-old Vicenio Romero. All three defendants have been charged with the unlawful sale, surrender, or purchase of a minor. At the time of the baby/vehicle barter, the child was less than a year old. A police investigation was launched in late-July when Chavis brought the child to a hospital for treatment. Since the girl was “presented to medical staff with bruising,” hospital personnel contacted cops and child protective service workers. During subsequent questioning, Chavis said that she had adopted the girl. But she was unable to provide documentation to support that claim. Police in Thomasville eventually identified Todd as the child’s biological mother. Superior Court indictments allege that Chavis and Romero “transferred possession of a vehicle to Alice Todd for physical custody of the minor.” Todd and her codefendants are each being held in the Davidson County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. A Texas man has been arrested after his fiancée saw a social media post of him robbing a bank the day before his wedding so he could pay for the ring and the venue of his ceremony. Heath Edward Bumpous from Crockett, Texas was charged with aggravated robbery and booked into the Trinity County Jail for allegedly approaching a bank teller at Citizens State Bank informing them that he had a weapon and then demanding money, which he was then subsequently given. Sheriff Woody Wallace said, “He basically stated that he was getting married tomorrow so he didn’t have enough money for a wedding ring that he wanted to buy and he needed to pay for the wedding venue.” After receiving news of the robbery, Wallace immediately posted pictures of the suspect on the Trinity County Sherriff’s Facebook page in hopes that the public would be able to provide tips that would lead to the capture of the suspect. It was then that Bumpous’ fiancée saw the Facebook post and recognized him.
