Tired of her husband’s drinking habit, a Mexican woman decided to make him think he had become allergic to booze by lacing his beers with natural laxatives like castor oil and plum extract. After consulting various internet pages and forums, Michel N., a young woman from Sinaloa, devised a plan to make her husband, José Brayan, quit drinking. She managed to get a hold on a mixture of castor oil and plum extract and started putting a few drops of it into his beer bottles, to achieve a mild, gradual laxative effect. José later told police that he found it a bit strange when his wife offered to pop open his beer and bring it to him whenever he needed one, but he simply “let himself be loved and pampered.” As the natural laxatives started working their magic on José ‘s bowels, his wife tried to convince him that the diarrhea was a sign of allergy, most likely to alcohol. According to Mexican news outlet Vanguardia, the man’s wife eventually confessed that she had caused the diarrhea by lacing his beer with laxatives. Michelle was taken into custody by police and will most likely face judicial charges. (https://bit.ly/2G79OUy)

A pharaoh once slathered his slaves in honey to keep bugs away from him. The pharaohs of ancient Egypt were believed to be literally divine. The word pharaoh itself means "great house," as in the house of God. In fact, King Pepi II, who supposedly ruled for 90 years, thought so highly of himself that when he was bothered by insects, he would command that one of his slaves be covered in honey to lure the flies away from himself.

Flagler County, Florida sheriff’s deputies are known to take a bite out of crime every day. But during a recent arrest, a Palm Coast woman bit a deputy and he wound up in the hospital. 38-year-old Cherie Saunders was arrested Friday night following reports that she had slapped one of her housemates. She began cursing at deputies and became unruly while being taken into custody, biting one of the arresting deputies on the leg. Deputies charged Saunders with domestic battery, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence-aggravated assault. During the struggle, Saunders kicked and screamed at officers as they tried to handcuff her and she bit one of the officers on the right calf. An agency release indicates Saunders refused to unlock her bite on the deputy’s leg until another officer pulled her off. (https://bit.ly/2v8NyHq)

A Florida woman who fed vultures, alligators, and other wildlife behind her gated-community home has agreed to pay $53,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by homeowner’s association. Palm Beach County Judge Scott Kerner on Wednesday permanently enjoined Irma Acosta Arya from feeding wildlife and ordered her to pay up by Feb. 14th. Neighbors and the homeowner’s association said Acosta Arya's nocturnal and daytime feedings attracted flocks of defecating and vomiting vultures, along with raccoons, alligators, and bobcats. The golf community borders the wildlife-filled Grassy Waters Preserve. “If that was the end of it and you could guarantee that, I’d be very happy,” association president Gordon Holness said after the brief hearing Wednesday. “This is a lady with a compulsion. Hopefully, she understands the extreme penalty she’d be under if this does reoccur.” Acosta Arya didn't attend the hearing, but her husband and son did. Her attorney, James Potts Sr., told the judge she will never feed the wildlife near her home again. He also told the judge she had not done the feedings “for many months.”(https://bit.ly/2R8OTGN)
