THIS WEEK'S DEAR JOHN LETTER!

Dear John,

I'm tired of the bad news. I want to share something positive and place a challenge for you to do the same. I remember reading that we will grow towards whatever we think about. So if we're always hearing negative news, we will have a more negative outlook. I love your good news each day. That's my favorite part of the day. I think I have some good news to share. I had someone who listens to your station come to my restaurant to buy gift cards. They mentioned your gift card challenge. I told them I was familiar with that because I listen too. Then they spent several hundred dollars buying gift cards for people at their church. This was an amazing blessing. This person helped me make payroll last week. I thanked them in person, but I want to thank them here as well and encourage others to take part in this challenge. I know you usually have a question in these Dear John letters, but I sure hope you'll let me share some positive news to shine through this week with this positive letter instead. Maybe people could encourage their friends to take part in the #GiftCardChallenge and share their own good new story.

According to a police report, a Florida Woman who insisted to cops that she was allowed to go topless while cleaning out her garage--in full view of her neighbors--was arrested for indecent exposure. Responding to a 9-1-1 call “reference to a exposure of sexual organs,” cops spoke with a Vero Beach resident who said that a neighbor who lives across the street pulled down her shirt “and exposed her breasts to the victim and her children.” The minors, the report noted, ranged in age from eleven to five. At one point, the witness said, the topless woman “bent over with her top down and started pounding on her blue plastic recycling bin making sure that the victim and the kids were looking.” Upon confronting the suspect--identified by police as 56-year-old Stephanie Wright--“her tan tank top was tucked under her breasts and I could visibly see her breasts,” reported Deputy David Ragley. Wright was eventually released from the county jail Friday evening after posting $500 bond. (https://bit.ly/35zDnd7)

A Texas park ranger was pushed into a lake while trying to enforcing social distancing regulations in Austin. The plunge was caught on camera at Lake Austin last Thursday, with the clip beginning as the ranger politely asks a group of parkgoers to disperse and keep six feet apart to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus. But then a shirtless man, identified by police as 25-year-old Brandon Hicks, can be seen running up and shoving the ranger, sending both into the water. Hicks is then allegedly recorded jumping out and running off into the distance. Hicks was arrested and faces charges of attempted assault on a public servant. The person who recorded the video told the outlet that they were happy the culprit was caught. “The park ranger was actually being really sweet and understanding before,” the video-taker said.
