THIS WEEK'S DEAR JOHN LETTER!
Dear
John,
My neighbor is getting married next year. I met several of her friends at her Halloween party. I'm not sure if I should get involved, but her maid of honor is not a very good friend. She was drinking at the party and she told me she's making bets on how long my neighbor's marriage will even last. I asked her how they knew one another. She has been a friend since first grade. The lady is single and seems pretty unhappy. I think maybe she's jealous, but either way, it's pretty bad to say things like this. Should I say something to my neighbor? Should I get involved at all or not?
Signed – Wondering Neighbor

In a poll on manners, nearly 70 percent of the people questioned said Americans are ruder than they were 20 or 30 years ago.
Your grandma might think the internet is rotting your brain, but it’s possible if she did a little face-time with Google that she could stay sharper in the noggin herself. In a study (UCLA), internet novices who were instructed to search the web showed increased activity in areas of the brain associated with making decisions and memory in just two weeks.

Maybe
he wanted to sleep on it? A man broke into a restaurant in the UK —
and was found passed out in the bathroom the next day, beside a
mop-bucket filled with bottles of booze and a half-eaten cheesecake.
The owner of 808 Bar and Kitchen in Sunderland discovered the
would-be thief early Saturday after following the sound of his
snoring. “We opened the toilet foyer door and there he was, our
very own Sleeping Beauty knocking out some zzzzzz’s and leading us
to his very position thanks to some very hefty snoring,” the owner
wrote on Facebook. “All jokes aside, in situations like these it’s
frustrating to think that these scumbags are breaking into people’s
businesses when times are already hard enough in the current
climate,” he added. The sleeping suspect was taken into custody.

According
to police, an endangered lemur has been stolen from the San Francisco
Zoo & Gardens. The San Francisco Police Department issued a press

habitat. Police responded to the zoo’s call on Wednesday, Oct.
14th, at around 9:40 a.m. Seven species of lemur are kept in the
zoo’s Lipman Family Lemur Forest. Forced entry into Maki’s animal
enclosure was discovered by police. An investigation is underway and
the scene was processed for evidence. “Maki is an endangered animal
and requires specialized care, we are asking the public to help get
him returned to the San Francisco Zoo” officials close to the case

A
Florida man who received more than $1.9 million in Coronavirus relief
funds is accused of using a fake business to apply for a Payroll
Protection Program loan and using the money to purchase a luxury car
and a pickup truck. The U.S. attorney’s office in Tampa says
48-year-old Keith William Nicoletta was arrested last week and
charged with bank fraud and illegal monetary transactions.
Prosecutors accuse Nicoletta of falsely claiming on a loan
application that he had a scrap metal business with sixty-nine
employees and a monthly payroll of more than $760,000. Nicoletta
obtained the PPP loan in May, which was part of the Coronavirus
relief package unveiled in March. Prosecutors said he reported no
employee wages to the state of Florida in 2019 or 2020. Nicoletta
faces up to forty years in federal prison.
