THIS WEEK'S DEAR JOHN LETTER!

Dear John,

Our family has a facebook group where we share “family things” and stay informed on what everyone is up to. Last week my youngest sister posted in the group that she wants to skip Christmas presents for one another this year. She lost her job a few months ago. She and her husband are getting buy, but she didn't want the pressure of getting gifts this year. I asked my older sister if she would like to be a secret Santa with me to buy them some things anyway. My older sister told me that was a bad idea, since she specifically said she didn't want that! Should I still get something with no expectations of a gift in return? I think that's what makes the most sense. What do you think?

Signed – Sad Sister

As motorists drove past them Saturday afternoon, a Florida couple engaged in a series of sex acts on the side of a road, a lewd display that landed them behind bars. According to a felony criminal complaint, “many drivers” observed 39-year-old Amber Gormley and 30-year-old Shawn McClelland as they trysted adjacent to a roadway in Largo, a city in the Tampa Bay area. Gormley and McClelland were spotted, cops say, around 2:45 p.m. in an “open area location of a busy area where all drivers could see then having intercourse.” Gormley and McClelland were charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition, a felony, and booked into the county jail on $10,000 bond. McClelland was also hit with a misdemeanor charge of possession of synthetic marijuana. Gormley’s rap sheet includes convictions for theft, narcotics possession, obstruction, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of burglary tools. (https://bit.ly/3nqZcTO)

Microsoft has issued an unusual safety warning to owners of its new Xbox Series X, requesting that gamers avoid blowing vape smoke into the console. The company issued the warning on Wednesday night, less than 24 hours after the new gaming system was released. “We can't believe we have to say this, but please do not blow vape smoke into your Xbox Series X,” the company tweeted. The tweet comes as videos crop up across social media showing smoke billowing from the new $600 consoles. Users sharing the footage claim the new Xbox has problems with overheating and may even catch fire. However, the videos are reportedly fake. A Twitter user pointed out that if one were to turn off their Xbox Series X and smoke a vape into it, vapor soon rises out of the console, as seen in the videos. (https://bit.ly/32O49OR)

The post said, “Beware of this porch pirate” and went on to say the man pictured had stolen packages from at least two porches. Goose Creek Police posted to Facebook Friday saying the man came into a courtroom the next day wearing the same shirt. “Well, sometimes people actually do make our job easy,” the post from Goose Creek Police Department stated.
