Police say a Hellertown woman accused of stealing cigarettes and Mentos from a gas station convenience store tried to flee in an ambulance, but couldn’t drive it. 19-year-old Antoinette Froilan was stopped by police after she got out of the ambulance, and was arrested once a store employee identified her as the thief. Froilan is facing a handful of charges, including felony counts of robbery and attempted theft of movable property. She was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail. Police said they were called for a robbery a little before 1:00 p.m. at the Citgo gas station. The employee reported a woman, later identified as Froilan, walked into the store, went behind the counter, and grabbed two pack of cigarettes. When Froilan was confronted by an employee, Froilan pushed the employee away, grabbed four rolls of Mentos, and walked out. About a block away from the store, Froilan got into an ambulance to try to get away, but couldn’t operate it. Court records show at the time Froilan was free on $8,000 unsecured bail for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. (https://bit.ly/3qHdoKj)

WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com

Law enforcement has arrested a suspect who may have vandalized as many as six churches over the past month. Two of those instances happened in Cass County on January 7th. Hughes Springs Police Chief Randy Kennedy confirmed that a suspect has been arrested. He did not release the person’s name, but said that an old-style hockey mask worn in surveillance video was a clue that led to the arrest. Security video showed a suspect apparently vandalizing the inside of the Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. According to the time stamp on the Missionary Baptist Church video, he was there for almost six hours, ransacking offices and breaking into a vending machine. Not only was there vandalism and destruction of property, the suspect stole money that was set aside to help with funeral expenses for a church member. Kennedy said this incident brought other break-ins to light. Five miles down the road investigators believe the same suspect did the same thing at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, among others. MOMENT OF DUH: Brought to you by TimeForRehab.com

A former Transportation Security Administration agent who was accused of tricking an airline passenger into showing him her breasts as she passed through security has been sentenced to sixty days behind bars. The airline passenger told authorities that Lomeli had stopped her in June 2019, claiming that he needed to look into her bra at a security checkpoint. Lomeli also instructed her to hold out her waistband out so he could look down into her pants and then told her that he needed to take her to a private room for more screening. The woman said that he took her to an elevator, where he told her that he could perform the screening. It was there that he asked her to lift her shirt and expose her breasts. Prosecutors said he then looked down her pants once more before telling her that she was free to go and complimented her breasts. Luckily, in addition to jail time, he was also barred from working as a security guard. (https://bit.ly/3a8znDk)
