track and field star Shelby Houlihan received a four-year ban from
the Olympics after testing positive for nandrolone, which she blamed
on a pork burrito. According to the 28-year-old, she was notified of
the positive results from an out-of-competition urine test given by
the World Anti-Doping Agency in December. Houlihan began searching
for the culprit, logging her food from the previous week. She and her
team believe the nandrolone detected stemmed from a pork burrito
Houlihan bought from a food truck the night before her test.
Nandrogen is an androgen and anabolic steroid that helps humans build
muscle. The World Anti-Doping Agency has noted that eating meats like
pig offal can cause the presence of the steroid. Now, just one week
before the start of U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials, the American
1500-meter and 5000-meter record-holder must confront the severity of
this ruling, which could keep her out of the 2024 Games in Paris.

Two passengers were reportedly escorted off a United Airlines plane at San Francisco International Airport because they brawled over elbow room. “On my first flight in 15 months, of course we were rerouted back to the gate because two passengers got into a physical altercation over elbow placement upon arm rests,” Google product director Jack Krawczyk said on Twitter. The flight was headed to Las Vegas when the two combatants rubbed elbows about 1:30 p.m. Friday. A United spokeswoman said the incident took place right before takeoff. Both men, who have not been identified, were detained when an officer arrived at the gate. Neither was injured and neither sought to “pursue further police action,” according to police, who said the men were not allowed to rejoin the flight. Social media users reacted to the episode by lashing out against the misery of commercial flying. “This. This is f—ing why I HATE traveling economy. North Troy man was injured in an explosion Tuesday afternoon after
police say he was making homemade fireworks. It happened around 2:00
p.m. near the Troy School. Police say 40-year-old Wayne LePage was
making homemade fireworks in a camper behind his home when the
explosion happened. Police say LePage had burns on his upper body and
was rushed to North Country Hospital by a family member, and later to
the UVM Medical Center by ambulance. His condition was not available.
Nearby residents were evacuated and the street was blocked off. The
school also went into lockdown. The Vermont State Police bomb squad
was called in along with members of the ATF and FBI.
