A study found that some people’s brains are actually hardwired to become irritated at certain everyday sounds like sniffling and knuckle cracking.

The hours after sunset may be toughest for folks trying to stay slim, new research shows. The small study suggests that you're more likely to overeat in the evening -- especially if you're feeling stressed.

A study (Columbia University) found when you distract yourself from pain, you actually hurt less. Study participants who were subjected to slight pain on their forearms reported less discomfort when they were asked to perform a distracting mental test as the pain was delivered. And when participants were given a placebo “pain relief” cream and distracted at the same time, their pain was even more reduced.

Coca-Cola contains an ingredient called Merchandise 7x. The company protects the secrecy of its syrup recipe by shipping ingredients to its syrup factories in the form of anonymous “merchandises”, numbered 1 through 9. Factory managers are told the relative proportions of each numbered merchandise, and the mixing procedure, but not the ingredients in the merchandises, some of which are themselves mixtures of more basic ingredients. Merchandise no. 1 is known to be sugar, in the form of high-fructose corn syrup or sucrose; caramel coloring is no. 2, caffeine is no. 3, and phosphoric acid is no. 4. The identities of merchandises 5 through 9 are a matter of debate — particularly ‘merchandise 7X’, which is thought to contain a mixture of essential oils such as orange, lime, lemon, and lavender.

Paris Hilton’s “Cooking With Paris” is done, even if it wasn’t well-done. Netflix has opted not to renew the cooking reality series for a second season. The show’s 6 episodes saw the media personality tackle a range of recipes, from savory main dishes to succulent desserts, with guests including Kim Kardashian West, Nikki Glaser, Demi Lovato, Saweetie, Lele Pons, and Kathy and Nicky Hilton. Cooking With Paris showcased Hilton’s unconventional — and often chaotic — cooking practices, such as flattening burgers with a diamond-encrusted spatula and dredging meat while wearing a flashy feathered ensemble.

SCOOP OF THE DAY: Brought to you by BetterCreditCards.com

One year ago we were all hoping 2021 would be better than 2020. Turns out it really wasn’t — except for millionaires and billionaires. The superyacht industry reported a 77 percent surge in sales last year.

Researchers estimate that around 65 percent of kids have had one an imaginary friend.

Yes, affordable housing is getting harder and harder to find, but would you pay rent for a tent…on a balcony? If so, I know a place. A resourceful tenant in the Swiss city of Zurich decided to subsidize her own monthly rent by subletting the balcony of her apartment. She’s offering the use of a 2-person tent on an open, almost-ground level balcony, with “a view of the starry evening sky” for just 500 Swiss francs (US $540) a month. The waterproof tent comes complete with an insulating mat, mattress and pillows, and access to the apartment’s kitchen, living room and bathroom. Believe it or not, the woman, known only as Sandra, has already had a good response to the ad she posted last month, particularly among students. As for whether the offer is legal, well, the short answer is “no”.

RadioTravelGroup.com PRESENTS... A NEWS HEADLINE... FROM SOMEWHERE IN THIS WORLD!

Dateline.... ENGLAND

In England a guy tried to break into a bar. First he jimmied a lock on a room directly above the business. Then he sawed through the floorboards into the ceiling of the bar, creating a hole just large enough to squeeze through. As he was slithering his way inside, the alarm went off. Panicking, the crook stopped halfway into the hole and tried to back out. But reverse slithering isn’t as easy as it sounds and he soon found himself stuck tight. The police discovered him, half in and half out, hanging from the ceiling.

NASA on Tuesday provided an updated International Space Station transition plan — including what will happen when deorbit occurs in January 2031. Eventually, after performing maneuvers, space station operators will perform a re-entry burn over the South Pacific Oceanic Uninhabited Area (SPOUA), the area around Point Nemo, which is roughly halfway between New Zealand and the southern tip of South America. Point Nemo’s nickname is “Spacecraft Cemetery.” It’s called that because as the point on the planet that’s farthest from land, and it’s where NASA tries to direct decommissioned spacecraft upon their return to Earth rather than have them junk up space and imperil future launches. oceanservice.noaa.gov

NASA astronaut Victor Glover has shared some behind-the-scenes about the International Space Station — and it’s really not all that surprising. Glover, who was on the ISS in late 2020, did an interview for the NASA podcast The Body in Space and shared: “When you first get to space station is when you notice the smell” … “you kind of get saturated and you get used to it after, but it was an interesting combination. … When you go into the module that has the lifting, the strength training equipment, that’s also where the bathroom is. So, that’s the most odoriferous module. … That one smells like a locker room.” Glover also likens the overall odor of the space station to the smell at a hospital.

• “I couldn’t get the lid off the peanut butter.”

• “The church is too close to drive and too far to walk.”

• “My wife cooked bacon for breakfast, and our entire family smelled like bacon.”

• “The pastor stays in the Bible too much.”
