What do you think? Given the chance, would you keep your partner…but sleep in a different room? Half of us would, according to a new poll. The survey of 2,000 US adults who live with a significant other found that 49% would be willing to try sleeping in a separate bed as a way to get better rest, and this is probably why: The average person who lives with a partner gets fewer than 4 good nights of sleep a week. As for what drives us nuts about sleeping together: When their partner steals the covers comes in at #1 (35%), followed by being awakened by their tossing and turning (35%), when they sleep with the TV on (28%), snoring (28%) and sleeping with the lights on (27%).

The marketing trick du jour for new companies seems to be to come up with a creative misspelling for a common word when they name their company. Think of brands like “Lyft”, “Fiverr”, “Flickr” and “Tumblr” A study has found consumers are less likely to support brands with unique spellings, especially when they have the option to go with products that use the conventional spelling of the same word. Researchers from the University of Notre Dame say: “Consumers perceive unconventionally spelled names as a persuasion tactic or a marketing gimmick, leading them to view the brand as less sincere.”

Apple is getting the original “True Detective” band back together. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are set to star in a half-hour comedy series for the streamer from “The Big Door Prize” creator and showrunner David West Read. The untitled series is an odd-couple love story that revolves around the “strange and beautiful bond” between the pair. The series will see their friendship “tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.” McConaughey and Harrelson starred together in the first season of HBO’s True Detective, which aired in 2014.

Jason Ritter has joined the cast of the upcoming “Matlock” reboot. The “Parenthood” star play opposite Kathy Bates in the CBS drama, a new take on the classic legal TV drama that starred Andy Griffith. Ritter rounds out the series regular cast for the pilot, which features Bates in the title role, plus Skye P. Marshall, David Del Rio and Leah Lewis.

Pat Sajak would like to buy an apology. The “Wheel of Fortune” host teased a contestant about her ichthyophobia, or fear of fish, on the show last week. Sajak was bursting with questions after the Ashley Laumb, revealed her phobia, saying: “You don’t like fish. You don’t like to eat them, you don’t like to swim with them?” Laumb confirmed she wants “nothing to do with them at all” Sajak persisted with more questions, prompting the contestant to say: “It’s a long story, Pat. We don’t have time.” Later on, Sajak turned to another contestant and pulled out a plastic fish, asking him to hold on to it, because he didn’t “want her to see it”. It was at this point Sajak said sorry. Laumb eventually won the game.

A study has ranked McAllen, Texas as the most overweight/obese city in the United States.

WalletHub has named Fremont, California the “happiest city in America”.

If you’ve ever been lucky to spend time on a cruise ship, then you know that it’s a wonderful thought to LIVE on one. Think about it – no cooking, no chores, perfect weather (usually), and as much pampering as you can stand. Sounds good, doesn’t it? But it also sounds expensive. But now, a cruise company is offering the chance to embark on a 3-year escape from the daily drudgery of your life — a 130,000-mile cruise for an almost affordable $30,000 per person, per year. Life at Sea Cruises is now taking bookings for the voyage on the MV Gemini, which sets sail from Istanbul on November 1. In those 3 years, you’ll hit 375 ports around the world, visiting 135 countries and all 7 continents. The ship will take in iconic sights from Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue and India’s Taj Mahal, to Mexico’s Chichen Itza, the pyramids of Giza, Machu Picchu and the Great Wall of China. There are also trips to 103 tropical islands. And 208 of those ports include overnight stays, giving you extra time to enjoy the sights, and to regain your “land legs”. And because of the nature of the voyage, the Gemini will be outfitted with a full-scale business center with remote working facilities, and a free hospital.

Though not commonly used, the day after tomorrow is called “overmorrow.”

Before clocks were common, the terms “deosil” and “widdershins” were used for ‘clockwise’ and ‘counter-clockwise’.

The Atlantic Ocean is saltier than the Pacific Ocean.

Male cats are called ‘toms’, and females are called ‘queens’ or ‘mollies’.

Your lips don’t touch when you say ‘touch,’ but they do when you say ‘apart.’

When he was President, George H.W. Bush banned broccoli from Air Force One and the White House.

Not once in the “Humpty Dumpty” nursery rhyme does it say that he’s an egg.

And you may not even realize it…

Not having an emergency fund: This should be your top priority after paying essential bills. Build up 3-6 months’ worth of essential costs for use ‘when’ – not ‘if’ an emergency happens.

Having no clue where your money is going: Start looking at your transactions daily and observe where your bucks are going. It’s an opportunity to be more mindful about your spending habits.

Going all-in on your debts because someone told you to do it that way: Loan payments, credit cards, or line of credit – they all automatically flow through your account without a strategy. If you have debts all over the place, you’re a prime candidate for debt consolidation, which lowers the interest you’re paying and the total amount of payments.
