Researchers at the University of British Columbia looked into the impact of exercise apps on the mental health of users, and discovered that using them while participating in simple home workouts can help reduce symptoms of depression. The scientists said that study participants, most of them female nurses, reported significantly lower levels of depressive symptoms compared to the control group that did not exercise. The study author said “the changes were actually quite amazing to see.”

The showrunner for HBO’s “The Last of Us” is open “in principle” to spin-offs. Craig Mazin said that he and co-creator Neil Druckmann have not had discussions about the potential to expand on some secondary characters in The Last of Us world, but he “isn’t against the idea”. He said he doubts he’d be involved, because “these shows are so big”, but he feels Druckmann would be interested in expanding the series as well.

Tom Sandoval continues to atone for his sins. In a new trailer for season 2 of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test”, the “Vanderpump Rules” star gets candid about why he wanted to push himself to the limit—both mentally and physically—following the Scandoval controversy — on Fox’s intense competition. In the vid, he says the “whole country’s” mad at him. Quote: “I had an affair and I want to take a beating.” And it looks like he gets his wish, as the TomTom co-owner is seen with a bloody nose during one of the winter warfare training exercises. The show premieres Sept. 25. LINK: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22003362/

John Travolta and “Vanderpump Rules” cast member Tom Sandoval both attended Metallica’s Friday show at SoFi Stadium near LA on Friday. But the celeb who made the biggest splash was Jason Momoa. An airline pilot reunited a 9-year-old with her beloved doll lost half a world away. Young Valentina Dominguez was left devastated after losing her doll Beatrice. Returning to Plano, Texas from a family trip to Japan, Valentina and her parents frantically searched through luggage before reasoning they must have lost Beatrice at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. A social media post alerted a friend, who alerted a neighbor, who alerted American Airlines First Officer James Danen. He got in contact with the lost and found staff at Turkish Airlines, and was directed to workers at the airport in Tokyo, who had by that time found Beatrice. Last week, Danen, who made 2 trips to Tokyo before managing to get his hands on Beatrice, personally escorted the doll back to the loving arms of Valentina. He also brought along some Japanese candy and a map of the world — showing all the places Beatrice had visited on her travels.

LIFE ACCORDING TO ACTION MOVIES:

Minor characters require only 1 bullet to fall-down dead, but when the villain is shot multiple times, he can remain standing and fight for up to a minute.

There are 2 kinds of women in the world … the type that want to go to bed with you, and the type that want to kill you. Both types are always physically attractive and under 25-years-old.

If you rudely argue with your boss in front of co-workers, not only won’t he fire you, he’ll gain a profound new respect for you.

If you are asked to compete against a world champion at any sport or game of any type, you will win.

If you have a prolonged fist-fight with another guy and neither of you dies, you’ll become best friends.

If you go without bathing, swear a lot, and treat women badly…they will adore you.

If a woman tries to clean a bullet wound and you curse in pain, she’ll fall in love with you.

FUN FACT FOR YOU:
Share this with your friends... they'll think you're really smart!

A teenage gorilla at the Toronto Zoo has finally managed to do what many human teens cannot: Break its smartphone addiction. Handlers report that Nassir is no longer fascinated with visitors’ smartphones and has once again embraced his natural behaviors. A sign posted at the enclosure where Nassir lives with his brother, Sadiki, urges visitors not to show the gorillas videos or photos from their phones, because it was affecting “their relationships and behaviour within their family.” Visitors who attempted to capture pics or videos often found Nassir curious and peeking over their devices. A zoo spokesperson said: “We had one particular person who was showing him lots of video footage and he kind of became a bit entranced with that”, so much that he began spending more time trying to engage visitors to show him their phones, rather than interacting with his brother.
