Here’s a little something that scientists have discovered — that I never thought I’d hear: It turns out that men are more likely to benefit from their looks in the workplace than women. I know, right? Researchers from the Polish Academy of Sciences tracked almost 12,000 Americans over a 20-year period, and found that good-looking men are more likely to attain better jobs and make more money than similarly desirable women. The study team wrote: “Physical attractiveness matters both for males’ and females’ …social mobility outcomes, but it is more important for males,” bucking the stereotype that good looks are especially advantageous for ladies.

When comparing pet dogs and cats, it’s easy to see which of the 2 generally requires more attention. Pups usually can’t get enough love from their human owners, while cats tend to be much more independent. And that may be why pet owners generally show more care toward their dogs than their cats, and are willing to pay more for canine medical treatment, according to recent research by the University of Copenhagen.

Fans clamoring for another “Nightmare Before Christmas” movie should know Tim Burton just isn’t into it. The filmmaker, who came up with the “Nightmare” story, co-produced the film and created character designs, recently told Empire magazine that the stop-motion classic is too important to him to ever create a sequel, prequel, reboot or anything else. Quote: “I’ve done all that (stuff), right? I don’t want that to happen to this. It’s nice that people are maybe interested [in another one], but I’m not.” Burton went on to say: “I feel like that old guy who owns a little piece of property and won’t sell to the big power-plant that wants to take my land. Get off my land!”

If you’re holding out hope for a “Barbie” sequel, you’d better take a deep breath. The film’s $1.4 billion in box office bank led to speculation that a second movie might be in the works, but Margot Robbie doesn’t see herself returning to Barbie’s Dream House anytime soon. In a recent interview, she said: “We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something.” The actress and producer explained that director Greta Gerwig “put everything into this movie, so I can’t imagine what would be next.”

Jon Hamm wants to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The 52-year-old, a huge fan of the MCU, told Screen Rant: “There are tons of stories that I’m familiar with…that are still out there to be told.” He was previously considered to play the role of villainous ‘Mister Sinister’ in a scrapped sequel to “The New Mutants”, an “X-Men” spin-off, and he now hopes that since X-Men is now under the MCU banner, he’d be considered for a future role.

I’m not sure whose baby needs this, but fashion house Dior has created a “scented water” for babies. Yeah. Kinda like a cologne or perfume to dab on their chubby little wrists. The petite perfume is part of Baby Dior’s skin care line, and is selling for (a-hem!) US$230. The Baby Dior ‘Bonne Étoile Scented Water’ comes with “soft notes of pear, wild rose, and white musks,” according to Dior. It is classified as an “eau de senteur” — an alcohol-free scented water that is particularly suitable for babies and children. But Dior’s website describes it as “more than a scented water”, but “an object imbued with reverie that can be personalized with the colored ribbon of your choice to accompany your child like their lucky star.” By the way, the company’s best-selling adult fragrance sells for just $145.
