Everyone moves in a unique way, and scientists are saying that your personal walking gait can indicate a lot about your overall health. In fact, it’s gaining traction as one of your vital signs, along with body temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Having your gait analyzed by a health professional can predict motor delays in kids, fall risks in older adults and, when coupled with a cognition decline, the risk of dementia. Walking speed can also be an indicator of your health. A study released last Fall found that walking faster is associated with a reduced risk of death.

An Amazon Prime subscriber has a problem with the company’s implementation of ads on Prime Video – and has filed a class action lawsuit, challenging the move. The plaintiff, who lives in California, alleges misleading advertising and consumer protection law breaches against Amazon in connection to its “unfair” change to ads on Prime Video. This comes about a week and a half after the company started showing limited ads to US subscribers and asking those looking to continue streaming without them to pay an extra $2.99 per month.

American Idol” bosses are considering replacing Katy Perry with Miley Cyrus on the judges’ panel. An insider said that executives are afraid, however, that Cyrus is not “family-friendly” enough. The Sun reports that a consultant claims they are also looking at other options, including Jennifer Lopez and Shania Twain, both of whom have worked on the show in the past, and are considered “safe” – but there is still a “push” for Cyrus. The ‘Flowers’ singer might be “perfect” because she “is a younger star with an audience that has grown up with her as Hannah Montana and is a celebrated pop star in her own right.”

The NFL has announced that the 2024/25 season will kick off on September 5th.

Cassette tapes, believe it or not, are the cool thing to collect in Japan. Once thought to be a relic of the past, the humble rectangle of magnetic film is experiencing a renaissance, charming a new generation of music fans with its nostalgic appearance and distinctly warm and rich sound. Some stores in Tokyo are expanding their cassette tape sections, signaling a resurgence of compact analog recording media. In a world where the norm is to listen to music through digital media, such as streaming services, one retailer attributes the recent popularity of cassettes to the fact that music enthusiasts can “own and feel attached” to them: “For the younger generation, they are novel, and for those who used them before, they evoke nostalgia about their early days of listening to music.”

It may be located in a cold area, but the world’s only “ski-thru” window has become a hot destination. “McSki”, which, as you might imagine, serves up McDonald’s menu items, is located in Sälen, Sweden. It first opened in 1996, but people from around the world have been visiting this winter, thanks to snow bunnies who spotted the restaurant in viral videos. McSki, which sits on the slopes of the Lindvallen winter resort, allows customers to, well, ski (or snowboard) up to a window and order food and drinks. The restaurant boasts a full menu, in addition to a McCafe, where hot chocolate and warm Swedish cinnamon buns are featured. Those who’d like to warm up can sit inside McSki, which resembles a cozy ski lodge with its wood-paneled interior. Most of the buzz about the place this year is thanks to TikTok, managers say, noting they have never seen so many English visitors. One TikTok video posted in December, which describes McSki as “heaven,” has been viewed more than 6.6 million times. LINK: http://tinyurl.com/yfnvnac6
